Chris Paul is the cover athlete for NBA 2K8

The cover athlete for 2K Sports NBA 2K8 will be New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul.

Paul won the 2006 Rookie of the Year award and in his sophomore season averaged 17.3 PPG and 8.9 APG.

I like the choice here. He is a fresh face who in the past has talked about his desire to be on a cover of a basketball game. After two years of Shaq this is a welcome change.

Along with NBA Live 08's Gilbert Arenas, the two cover athletes are highly marketable guys who seem excited about the opportunity. That excitement on their part can actually transfer to the consumers, compared to players who are just chosen to be on the cover but don't really care about the game or the process.

I suspect 2K will be officially announcing this prior to E3. I’d imagine that they would want to have their promo materials and such with him on it on display, along with loading screens and whatever else comes with that.

I’m guessing LeBron was too expensive. He would’ve been perfect, he’s an ok basketball player i guess plus the exposure from the finals and everything.

And yeah cp3 was injured and overshadowed by deron williams this year. interesting choice. I still love him though, i have a signed jersey on my wall to remind me.

dude. live is so shitty. the animation still looks like ps2. so choppy and fast. the 2k animation is so much smoother and realistic. yeah, 2k has its minor faults, but live is built on a shitty system, so the game is built on a faulty foundation. 2k owns live any DAY
