NCAA Football 08 recruiting

Two new EA Sports producer blogs have been posted. One covers the details of the recruiting process in NCAA Football 08 and offers tips on how to maximize results. The other discusses how the progression system in Madden 08 works. These are two topics that have been brought up on numerous forums and EA has reacted by posting these blogs to provide answers to the community.

In the case of NCAA much of the recruiting aspect is seen as overwhelming to fans of the game. The hardcore Dynasty mode players get in and experiment and learn the ins and outs of the system, but they are in the minority. Even then it may seem to be a crapshoot when going through the game's recruiting process. So the NCAA blog is something that will be of use to many. On the other hand the progression blog for Madden is more of an explanation of the system rather than how to best utilize it.

Most people have come to expect sports titles to be released and then forgotten about as the team moves on to the next iteration. This is a positive development to see them continue to support the fans of their games post-release.

Does anyone know how to edit a players position.

Madden 08 progression was probably changed in this fashion, because of the way defensive players progressed last year. I mean regressed, considering no defensive player exists above the low 80's (with the exception of rookies and maybe some original high 90 players) after 4 or 5 years in franchise

Hey, I know this really isn't the place for this, but can anyone else not get into sportsgamer.com these days?

They still didn't do a very good job of explaining the Progression in Madden. From what I gather, progression is based on how well a player stacks up during the season to other players at his position? If that's the case, the sim engine needs be fixed. This kind of progression doesn't work with the current sim engine. I ran 1500 yards with rookie RB and didn't move up at all in rating...now that I look back and see that 15 other guys ran for more I think this system needs some tweaking. just a bit...okay a lot.

Good finds. I really wasn't exactly sure how to go about recruiting but with that info I think I'll land that 5 star back I'm trying for. Thanks
  • Very useful info, Padre. Thanks.
