lebron at this point probably isn’t best player, unquestionably top five, behind only nash, duncan, kobe… no one else though. he is still deserving of his rating. look at him this year, only lacking the clutch of kobe… soon enough. he will lead the cavs to the finals after beating pistons and celtics… finally some excitement in the east.
what’s up with all this love for melo? yeah, he is probably better than 86, but is he really deserving of a 90?
biggest rip-offs (besides spurs of course) boozer, camby, bowen should at least be top 15 sf nash and duncan at least 93
i think wade is a little over-rated, but i’d still make him 2nd best sg at 90-91, yao and ming both over-rated, pretty heavily… hughes at 80 is a joke, caron butler (sf is top 7) deserving of at least 84 overall- we’ll see without aren as if he can hit that big shot. i’m still laughing at the proclamation that d-wade is better than lbj. to hell with skip bayless as a random note. i’d love to see his rankings of kobe and lebron.

It’s a joke Kapono was rated in the 60’s. Kapono deserves yo be in the middle 70’s. And his 3 point rating is 80 when he won two shootouts in a row. Ea is not thinking. Plus whoever posted this is wrong because I can think of several people who were in the 80’s and didn’t make the list.

Are you kidding me raptors are a 65? They are reigning atlantiv division champs im pretty sure atlanta and memphis are not a better team than the raptors. Also With the updates states how is calderon a 67. The guy averages 9 dimes and double digit points every night. Also how is kapono rated a 75 on 3 point range? The guy won back – to – back championships im pretty sure he can shoot the three ball better than most.

How in **** name are the magic ranked second to last in the entire league. I don’t know who EA is paying to make this game, but please hire somebody to do some scouting. You know, somebody that actually watches the NBA. And putting the Celtics at #10 (ranked 80) is just stupid and unacceptable.

the nets in the top 10??? everyone in the preseason had the bulls so i’ll let that pass.

i can’t believe EA didn’t revise player ratings with the roster updates. i’m hoping that changes in live ‘09.

i still love the game, it just could’ve been better. come on EA, take it the next level.

I don’t get it there are sooo many things wrong with this it’s not even funny.

    1. The Celtics are too low and deserve to be at least better than the Nets

    2. The Heat are WAY too high

    3. How did the Magic manage to get second worst? Even the TWOLVES are better.

    4. Ricky Davis shouldnt be higher than Josh Smith or Kevin Durant

    6. There’s no way in hell that Shaq should be ranked higher than Yao

    7. Why are the Hornets lower than the Knicks?

    8. It’s weird that Elton Brand is third best PF since he barely played this year

    9. Ron Artest better than Richard Jefferson?

    10. Why are Steve Francis and Marbury even here?

greg oden at 75 is harsh he should be over a 80 even though he hasn’t done anything yet, but hes a beast in the NCAA, and durant a 78 he should be over the 80s.

NBA Live 08 player ratings were not accurate at all. Every year the rookies are so OVERRATED. Except for Kevin Durant but Al Horford was underrated. Michael Conley and Greg Oden were so overrated. I hope they don’t make Michael Beasley and Derrick Rose so OVERRATED.

Wade and McGrady are no longer good, due to injuries. James is not good at all, his ego is just talking because he came straight from High School, he is a 0. Sorry to all Chicago fans, but no Bull deserves to be in the 80’s, not even Larry Hughes. Pau Gasol is not good. I know that these ratings, not mine, are high, but NBA Live 08’s aren’t low, they just nowhere close to being in the correct spots. And I just hate that everyone thinks that Caron is a Shooting Guard. Stackhouse is a Small Forward. Dalembert should be the sixth or seventh rated Center and Ben Wallace doesn’t deserve to be in the top 20, and by the way he is a Power Foward. Oden should be in the 60’s. I named all of the Wizards, because I am a fan, and there overall ratings should be mid 80’s.

The Raptors better be a lot better than they were in 08, bcuz we all know live F U C K E D up when they has them at 28th in the league and the Magic at 29th while having the Nets at 6th in the NBA. Jose Calderon should be a low 80s as he is one of the top 10 PG in the league. Chris Bosh should be at about 88 or 89 as he is a top 3 PF in the association. So live better not F U C K their rating as they did last year

ok … lebron deserved his rating he’s the best sf in the league ….. but to the guy who thinks melo is under 90 then **** you he desrves 90 why? the year he went to the nugs, denver visited the play offs every year including the year he was rookie!!!! sure they cant pass the first round but you gotta admit that the west is way tougher than the east. plus he won the fiba best player of the year

2k8 has REAL ratings and they have top of the line expert analysts that give real ratings and actually can tell how the player develops through potential rating and they are NEVER wrong, i mean they put Chris paul on the cover of 2k8 and look what happened, better gameplay, better modes (imo), better everything…. live is a shit franchise that is SHIT. LONG LIVE 2K!

retrospectively these ratings are an absolute monstrosity
    magic second last?
nets at 6th, nuggets 7th, bulls 8th and miami 9th?
lakers to finish 7th in west, celtics 6th in East?
the team with a record of 66-16 ranked lower than a team with an eventual record of 15-67 (51 game turnaround)
    hahahahahahaha EA sure fucked up
