NBA Live 08 Go-To Moves video

Chris Paul Live 08

Here is the video I put together displaying the Go-To Moves of many players from the practice gym. After finishing it up I realized how dark the gym is so it may be difficult to make out the player. At the very least you should be able to get an idea of their moves through the video that plays in the upper right corner (for some reason no video plays for Steve Nash or Allen Iverson).

Included are 24 different players: Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Carlos Boozer, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Carmelo Anthony, Gilbert Arenas, Baron Davis, Yao Ming, Jermaine O’Neal, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Redd, Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Lebron James, Vince Carter, Chauncey Billips, Shawn Marion, Elton Brand.

They look nice, Pasta..do you know if the slow down on the PS3 version has been fixed? I know in the demo, if you played a few games in a row there was considerable slow down.

    Thanks for the videos

I think a lot seem similar because go-to moves are basically players creating space to get their shots off. Thats how they are successful in real life and they’ve translated that to a certain extent in the game now. So a lot of them are fadeaways, but they aren’t generic. It may be tough to spot in the videos but they’re all different from each other in terms of look and effectiveness.

cocobee- I’ll add that to my list I’ll be responding to questions that have been asked in a posting sometime today.

Nice. Thought Kobe’s go 2 move was going to be the backdown fade-a-way, glad they got this in inclding his flailing arms.

Good work. The thing is I don’t really think it should be highlighted as a new feature. Those guys do have step backs/fade aways that they use in games to their advantage. Other than those “Go-To Moves”, the majority of the players feel the same when controlling, compared to the competition, where as players on their own, really play like themselves and differ from each other. Not trying to get in any debate, and I think Live 08 is better than 07, but even in NBA 2K7 and now 2K8, T-Mac, Lebron, Kobe, Wade, and etc. will feel totally different from each other and will do moves on their own as in real life to be effective on the court.

Nice Pasta, great work! Folks, there´s more to these signature moves than the GO-TO Moves. For example, in the demo, LeBron James performs 2 dunks that no other player can (at least in the demo). Hopefully, we´ll see more of that in the full game.

to whatjust to reply to rich but players do play like them selves look at marion’s shot at the end of the goto demo that pasta put in the vid its seperate from his goto move because its his natural shot. i’m sure he doesn’t feel like t mac when shooting.

Kind of weird that they are all variations of fadeaways though. Like, Melo should have something to do with a jab step, and Wade should have the spin he does in the lane.

People with true fadeaways as go to moves would be Kobe, Yao, Garnett… the rest of them, I’m not so sure about.

He Pasta does the game play better when you SLOW down the game all the way. I tried it in the demo, but didn’t see much of a difference!!!

Please watch this…you won’t regret it (nba 2k8…ultimate fan trailer #3)

    http://www.gametrailers.com/player/25650.html

Honestly if you are a fan of basketball you cannot deny this. live 08 is going to be a great basketball game, but nba2k8 is clearly on another level. I am a LIVE guy who only made the switch last year and once you play 2k you understand what a true quality basketball game should feel like. Granted people have their own opinion and we are all free to choose for ourselves, but seriously, you would only be doing yourself a dis-service by not making nba2k8 your basketball game of choice.
