Gamespot has posted a feature comparing the faces of a handful of players in the three NBA games and allowing for readers to vote on which is the best. You can check it out here.
While the general consensus is that Live 08 has the best overall graphics of the three, 2K8 does have a better representation of some of the players, and NBA 08 is just plain out of its league in every comparison to an embarrassing degree.
I pretty much agree with the way the voting went on each player, although I may prefer Live’s version of Dwyane Wade. Overall out of the 12 players featured, Live and 2K8 split it evenly.

I looked at this on gamespot last night. The NBA 08 players made me laugh so hard, they are just terrible. There’s no help for Chris Kaman, his were bad in all three games.

Just can not understand, why do people keep focusing on graphics. If You like a game, and play day after day with it, it is just secondary. Live 08 has got the gold medal here, but just a dissappointing 65-70% overall ranking from the major review sites.
Small modifications in graphics and new menus are slightly enough for EA, they have to rebuild the player animation system next year, to compete with 2k9.

EA has the best technology, but 2K managed to re-create the players’ faces in a better way. In the mean time, NBA 08 dev. team should be embarassed. I agree with the voting as well.

Arenas looked bad in all three versions.

White people always look stupid in basketball games. Even though most of the art dept is probably white they make the white superstars of the nba look like the living dead.
maybe that’s a reflection of their 14 hour workdays. Live mostly looks better as far as players, but it’s funny this site has 90% live articles when 2k8 is leaps and bounds beyond it in terms of a gamming experience.
