I guess people can't read....Some players mentioned in a number of posts are not in the game because their team is not in the game. What part of that is difficult to understand???

The classic players that were rated, I agree some rated much lower or higher than they should be, are players that are in the game....Mateen Cleaves (I am a huge MSU fan) is not in the game...Shaq, not there either....Should be but isn't..
i will tell you exactly why jordan is the highest rated historic player...because unlike the NBA...college basketball is all about team work and non-selfish play...jordan may have been the greatest player in NBA history...and what many people often forget is that he was also the greatest TEAM player to ever play the game...he helped some good and some marginal players on his team become superstars and pivotal role players...with that being said, when it came to crunch time...with the game on the line...jordan was going to get the ball and seal the victory...check out the '84 national championship if you disagree with me...i don't care that he was drafted 3rd...he won the naismith and wooden POY awards...olajuwon went to houston first, who desperately needed a big man and he also happened to player for the University of Houston (it was about marketing as much as talent)...and come on...sam bowie went 2nd? not only was this purely a team need pick...but with jordan, barkley, and stockton still on the draft board...this easily made ESPNs list of 100 worst draft picks ever...
I'll start this off by saying Jordan is the greatest player ever(NBA). Kareem is the greatest college player ever and it's not even an argument. 3 years, 3 championships, 3 MOPs, 88-2 record.

But LOL. You are clueless. First, it wasn't the 1984 title game. It was the 1982 title game. And that team was James Worthy's team. Jordan was a little known freshmen who hit a big shot(open shot, because G'town doubled off him). How did 1983 and 1984 go? Any titles? His collegiate career was nothing special. Jordan was the greatest TEAM player ever? Um, hell no he wasn't. Magic Johnson or Bill Russell hold that title. Do you know ANYTHING about Jordan? Prior to his title years this guy was a complete ballhog and bashed the shit out of all his teammates. When they asked him about making his teammates better, he'd say get me better teammates.

If MJ was the greatest college player, he would have been the #1 pick regardless of position.

I posted before I read this post, but if I could, I would like to add this to my above post- because I couldn't agree more!!!!
