I wanted to rent NCAA March Madness 08 but couldn't and got this instead. I loved the recruiting, personally, but like everything there were flaws.

Sounds to me like you are not very familiar with the series itself. As far as the animations go, if you were talking about NBA 2K8 I would agree with you. CH 2K8 addressed a lot of the faults that NBA had and improved on them. Blocks to frequent, maybe try a pump fake, common basketball knowledge. You cant just shoot in someone's face and expect them not to send it back.

Same with turnovers, if you take your time and look ahead of you before you pass you'll see that "hey, he might be able to jump into the passing lane and steal this" Im averaging less than 5 TO's a game and when I do turn it over its because I did something stupid, not because of the "programming of the game". 2K gave you the tools to use to make smarter passes its your fault for not wanting to learn to use them. You said it yourself, Maximum Passing is something your not going to learn, thats what happens when you chest pass or lob instead of a bounce pass.

I think this game is dope, I dont know what else is to say? No game is perfect, the recruiting mode is nice... I havent played online yet though... The amateur ball games are nice also.

I just think that "#1 rated and selling franchise" crap burns a few heads up... EA cant dominate everything bros... Gotta have competition. Game is dope as hell, if you like Defense and not that run and gun 100pt every game stuff... this is another good sim for ya

Oh, no doubt I should have gotten my butt beat but it was just so frustrating because I turned the ball over every other time down the court. Also, I can't figure out how to substitute to save my life without having to call a timeout. I press X make my subs then press O. A foul will occure and nothing will happen. So then I press X and make my subs and leave the sub screen up and the same thing happens. I end up having my whole starting roster being fatigued at about 55-60 with my bench still at 100. Can anyone tell me how to do it for the PS3?

I'll just reiterate that it's still frustrating when you play well as a small school and fail to hit the same shots your hitting against comparable opponents.

As UMES, the same wide open jumper I hit against Delaware State, clanks far more often against top competition.

It's as plain an simple as that.

That said, the game is great. I plan on playing this one for months. It's that frustration that comes from feeling like there is this invisible force that keeps you from upsetting these bigger schools too often. Granted that does make it realistic, but you wish it didn't have to be implemented like that.

As a 60 OVR school I was able to upset 74 Iowa on the road at the buzzer and hang with 81 West Virigina on the road until losing by 9. But against VCU, Bradley and GW (all 77-79) I got torched early and often because those teams had skill three point guys. As much as I focused on guarding them, pressuring, double teaming, it seemed one of them would get open because for some reason or other my CPU defender played off of them to far. It really forces you to really play as five guys as one against top competition, trying to see who is getting lax on defense and switching to them.
