who out there misses the MVP series by EA. that game was damn near perfect. the gameplay was second to none and i wish 2k wouldn’t have bought up mlb rights so they could have kept progressing the game into the next gen formats. MVP is probably my favorite game of all time, that 05 version was sick. anyone else agree???

Gag me with a spoon. MVP Baseball is garbage, it is arcade, easy as hell, 200+ HR's a season baseball, unrealistic pitching, lame presentation, lame commentary.

The Show Series is the best baseball series ever. IT is sim, not arcade.

Playing the demo the graphics are VASLTY improved from last year. Better textures on skin and clothes and even the baseball and even stadiums. Lighting reflects off name and numbers on back of jersey, and you can see pine tar on helmets with light reflection off of them. Clothes that wrinkle realistically, wind blowing clothing, tons of animations that give the game a baseball feel more so than any other game. No lame cardboard cut out crowd, they jump for balls hit near them.

When you let the game go unpaused things get really interesting. players get bored so they do some...odd things to pass time.

Umpires taking a bat from a batter and swinging it a few times before giving it back to the batter, or the batter using the bat as a guitar, or 1st baseman talking to first base ump and also talking to first base coach. Players in dugout doing the wave. Manny laying on the ground in the outfield, Ellsbury doing situps in the field. OR even PLayers trying o hype up the crowd and the crowd responds by cheering.

No game gets closer to baseball than The Show Games

MLB THE SHOW 07 WAS THE BEST GAME EVER MADE, NO DOUBT. I CAN WAIT FOR THE 08 VERSION TO COME OUT. I HOPE 08 SHOWS THE FLIGHT OF THE HOMERUN BALL ALL THE WAY THROUGH, IN 07 IT CUTS IT OFF. ANYBODY OUT THERE FEEL ME ON THAT?

The player models still dont look anyhwere near realistic. the faces look great, however their bodies look terrible. just look at the frames of tejada. actually, the only pictures that look good are the ones of matsuzaka and lowell, and thats only because you cant see their goofy looking bodies. This gamewill be as visually disappointing as last year. put your money on MLB 2K8

man, i have been waiting months for this game to come out. I love 07 the show, but it gets old after a while, especially in franchise, when every other team begins to suck and you just totally dominate. I hope they make it so you can have your prospects actually improve and such. In 07, the only way prospects ever became good is if they were drafted as a good to great player...otherwise, you will see little to no improvement, no matter how much money you put into development.

It was funny to me that guys like matt kemp, james loney, chad billingsley, and andre ethier did not improve at all during franchise mode. I dont know if i want it like 2k7, where everyone becomes incredible, but lets meet somewhere in the middle: certain mini games you can do to improve your players. Something like the offseason drills for franchise in madden.

Does anyone find it interesting that under motion capture there is Tony Gywnn? Does this mean he will be a unlockable or did they mean Tony Gwynn Jr.?
