Two videos have been added to the official website for MLB 08: The Show (PS3) discussing features while displaying some gameplay footage. They’ve since been added to Gametrailers and I’ve included them here to watch by continuing on.
The first is all about the “Replay Vault” which allows for the ability to watch any play that has occurred in the game. The second video goes over “Road to the Show” mode which looks as though its shaping up to be fantastic.

Nice to see a graphics upgrade. Anyway this game made me glad I got my PS3 and it seems like it won’t let me down again this year.

If only Socom would come out with MLB:08 then I would buy a PS3.

Wow,
I never thought that I would see the third base coach giving signs in a baseball game. Tha is pretty cool but I can think of a bunch of stuff I would rather see in the game. Hopefully there are more sweet new additions then what they showed.

Yeah I don”t see any videos either. There’s a tab for screen shots, and a tab titled “Video & Download Help.” No videos that I can see.

They must have taken them down because about two hours ago I watched them and now they are gone. There wasn’t anything really informative. Just letting you know that there will be more to do in the Road to the Show mode and a replay archive thing.

I just checked and they still appear for me, but I’ve added the videos into my posting as they went up on Gametrailers today.

This game is the sole reason why I dust off my PS2 every spring.

Having now seen the videos, I have to say, the game (graphically speaking) looks pretty damn identical to last years iteration. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I had hoped for a bit more improvement.
Additionally, I see the flags in the outfield are still stuck in a perpetual wind storm.

Exactly, the graphics are unchanged except for the lighting, some texture work, and some cloth physics. Very poor move in my opinion. I can’t see how so many people are saying this game looks amazing. Nothing was done to the player models, stadiums, anything. If you want, load up 07 and mimic some recent pictures of 08 in the replay mode. The only changes that are evident is the lighting and MAYBE the cloth of the jerseys.

At least as a PS3 owner, there is some choice between this, 2K8 and even Pro Yakyu Spirits.
The screenshots made me think there would be vast improvement in the graphics engine for 08, but it appears that little has changed, besides the lighting, textures, etc.
The mo-capture, physics, etc all seem to be the same. It’s probably the area they needed to address most, and it doesn’t look like much has been done. In saying that, it still looks nice enough.

Im glad that Im a person who likes the graphics engine. I think the game looks great. can’t wait.
