PS3 Madden patch nearing release

I have received word that the patch for the PS3 version of Madden has nearly cleared certification by Sony. As I noted last week it was looking as though the first full week of January would be a good bet for when it would arrive. That appears to be the case as the expectation is it will be out on Friday or sometime early next week.
This patch, which was released at the end of November for the 360, among other things deals with reducing the high rate of fumbles, improves defensive back reactions, and fixes issues in Franchise mode such as the disappearing free agent pool.

Hi Pasta….Big Giants fan here…Good luck to your Seahawks this weekend. I hope they smoke the Skins…I am on the 360 and I find it horrible that we have to wait for our rosters because Sony is to lazy to do their jobs. Please tell me that this also means that the 360 will get the new rosters.

That was the word a few weeks back. Id imagine it should follow soon but I’ll try to find out more tomorrow.

Well, for the sake of you PS3 players, I hope that they fixed the freezing issue in your patch because they sure as hell didn’t do it for the 360. I can’t play my franchise anymore, trying to go from season 4 to the offseason, my game freezes….Also, couldn’t train players from week 10 of season 3 and on. game would freeze.

From what I heard if it wasn’t out late today the expectation was it would be early next week. Thats all I know but I’ll check back in on Monday to find out the latest.

It improves defensive back reactions!? As if there weren’t already too many interceptions! I play on all-pro with the interceptions AI slider tuned all the way down to 0 for both the CPU and USER, and there are still 6-10 interceptions per game. They should change the name to Rex Grossman 2008 with all of these turnovers.

ummmm maybe is your skill level….The patch makes the db play more realistic in terms of not having corners who are not looking at the ball pick it off easy… and try all madden… all pro is for rookies….

From the Xbox360 “patch notes” we have:
Game play – DB super human reactions
To me that means that we will see less int and not that they will improve DB.

I just found this site and I think it is great!
I just want to voice my opinion on something, and I’ll keep it short….
I have played Madden since it came out for the Playstation except for ‘07 (I wanted to wait for the PS3 to come down in price and get everything at once). I am a big fan of the Franchise mode, it is what I live for. In August of last year I spend 600$ on everything and it is now Jan08 and I cannot get through 4 season’s. With everything that is wrong with the game and the time frame of fixing it, does anyone feel like they wasted their 60$ on the game? Has anyone thought of a lawsuit against EA? It says you can play up to 30 seasons and here it is January and cannot get passed the 4th season.

Dude are you serious… A Lawsuite…. What a joke… is a video game. And for the 360 that issue was fixed. Dont blame EA on this one. They released the patch for Sony a while back but Sony is the lazy ones that have yet to push it through. The question is that maybe you should blame yourself for buying the inferior product PS3 to 360

EA put out the product… period. Ok, so it is on a Sony product. Maybe they should be partly responsible. It really doesn’t matter what the prodect is… ps3, 360, pc, game cube. The fact is the game is still somewhat unplayable in my opinion after how many months of its release.

you funny…. maybe you and your friends are like 15 years old and dont know better… but for you to say that 2008 is the year of the crappy 3 is bogus… What makes you say that… All multi platform games are better on the 360 and i dare to you challenge me on that… go watch blue ray movies since that is all that ps3 is good for… Plus the new 360’s are not overheating and loud… I have a new Elite and it works fine… at least i enjoy madden on 360 while you sony fans are still wating for the patch… is a joke

All I am saying is I am disappointed in the product EA put out… it doesn’t matter what platform it is on. You prefer 360, I prefer ps3. The platform is not really the issue here. I am not 15… I am very well off with the job I have. Ok, enough said.

At least I can watch HD movies, as I said in my post, 2008 will be the year as game developers are going to be able to understand the PS3’s power. Elite system is no better than the first 360, I had to return it as well and finally wised up and went PS3 – never happier! And although my friends and I are not 15, at least I have friends (remember your mom and sister don’t count either loser!)

The freezing issue was NOT fixed in the 360 patch. I can’t get past season 5 because the game freezes on me. Lots of other people with the same issue. Madden 08 was a lemon for both consoles as it relates to franchise mode at least.

madden is becoming one big joke. i want one whole season without the damn game freezing. hitstick with roy williams in the secondary makes the piece freeze everytime
