Gamespot has posted up the first screens (11 of them) from MLB 2K8 along with an interview with producer Ben Brinkman. In it he talks about the improvements over last year as well as new features. You can check out the screens here and the interview here.
One good piece of news out of the interview is that a demo is expected for the PS3 and 360 and they are targeting early February.

i really like the Card thing.. thats something the show couldnt think of…
and that you can get Card teams and use them online .. thats pretty cool i have to say
and Pastapadre ? me and my friends were debating if the quote
“It’s just blown out. You will be hard-pressed to find a starter without a dead-on signature animation. If a player has a unique stance or delivery, we tried to get it captured and into Major League Baseball 2K8. I think you’ll be very impressed”
– Ben Brinkman
does that mean every starter (position player & pitcher), every starting pitcher, or every starting plater ?
sounds confusing but i think you know what i mean ?
thanks ahead of time

I think the faces look rediculous. Most of them look just plain bad; Peavy, JETER especially, Bonderman. They just look weird.

The card system is a lot like the old Madden cards. You could lose them in games online as well. Still, it has to be better than the previous weak unlockable system.
Also, I am disappointed to see that Detroit’s home uniforms still have that stupid white outline surrounding the logo and numbers. Yes, it is cosmetic but it looks horrible.
Outside of that, I am psyched to get my hands on this year’s game.

I think that’s Verlander, if I am not mistaken. Anyway I wonder if they will improve as the game progresses? Hopefully this is not the final version and they will polish them up.

I think they may have sacrificed some on the visuals to get the game up to 60fps. It still looks pretty good to me. Although I definitely feel a greater level of excitement towards The Show right now.

i love that we can finally field with the analog like mvp 06 and 07 as well as pitch. fielding was the funnest part of the ncaa baseball games and ill probably love it again.

I’m with you on that.
I wonder if 2K would ever consider ‘borrowing’ a few ideas from the RTTS? I would say put in a player lock but that seems a bit boring unless you would only play that position when the ball was hit and the count was accelerated, so you didn’t have to sit through all the pitches.

does anyone know when he talked about the every starter having a sig style .. does that mean every starting position player (like SS, 1B and everything) or starting pitcher
