MLB 2K8 Big Head Mode

2K has sent over a few screenshots showing off the “Big Head” mode from MLB 2K8. These actually remind me a little of The BIGS in their look as they appear to fall more on the exaggerated side than going way overboard.

I’m always amused by modes such as this, sometimes it’s a relief to not take the games so seriously and just have fun with them. Click the thumbnails below to view the images full size.

I think its stupid, give me a career mode like the show rather than gimmick modes. Its a waste of time if you ask me.

The “mystery mode” was just IGN being stupid…its just the trading card game.

reading the past article of pasta about the lack of space on the 360 game, the lack of features, I think this kind of modes ore features are wasting time and space, I mean if you want a fun and unrealistic game u might get the bigs or games like that but a simulation game, what we want is next gen features like superstar mode, or road to the show, theres other stuff more important than this kind of mode.

Programmatically, I think a big-head mode would take about 5 seconds to implement, so it really doesn’t take away from other aspects of the game nor does it diminish from the features ultimately included.

That being said, it would probably make more sense to focus on gameplay and other issues that the series has had since last year rather than introduce 7 screenshots of cartoonish major leaguers running around.

The lack of gameplay videos and info about this game is disturbing.

This is what we get?Big head mode screens? That is absolutley ridiculous. This has been turned into a joke even fans of 2K are bashing 2K because they have obviously dropped the ball or are just lacking effort to try to make their product likeable for lack of a better word.

All I can do is hope this game is atleast fun and playable since I only have a 360.I mean 2k7was a pretty fun game but there was to many glitches and problems with it like most MLB 2K games.SO hopefully they fixed the things they say they did because I really have not seen any proof of it.

Reminds me of when people were pushing for EA to remove mascot games from NCAA Football. It isn’t hurting anyone to have it included and a lot of people like playing that way. I understand though that the frustration probably stems from the lack of videos and the demo not being out.

2k is know for that crap… They are the worse as far as letting you know whats going on w/ the game. I think if you pull up peoples post in the past month, look at there comments on the games I mentioned plus that facebreaker game you will see some funny stuff… Like I said, I hate baseball games… But the mascot game was fun to play no and again on College Football… Its just balance. But buying kiddie looking games as a whole is crazy to me, this looks like just a add on…

Good gravy. When did video gamers turn into crusty old men? I like my games as sim as everyone else out there, but there’s nothing wrong with putting in some *gasp* fun features in the game.

If EA was the publisher for MLB The Show everyone would be hating The Show. Not an EA fanboy, just weird how everyone loves 2K sports games (NBA and College Hoops) with the lone competition being EA (minus Sony’s crap NBA game)…
