This week’s roster update for MLB 08: The Show contains 230 player movements with the ones below having been spotlighted. This is a very significant update as it includes those that have just now become members of the Players Union by making an appearance in their first MLB game.

RP Rudy Seanez moved from Free Agent to Phillies Relief.
SP Woody Williams moved from Astros Starting to Free Agent.
SP Chris Sampson moved from Astros Relief to Astros Starting.
3B Scott Spiezio moved from Free Agent to Braves Minors.
CF Tony Gwynn Jr moved from Brewers Bench to Brewers Position.
LF Juan Pierre moved from Dodgers Position to Dodgers Bench.
LF Andre Ethier moved from Dodgers Bench to Dodgers Position.
LF Jay Payton moved from Orioles Bench to Orioles Position.
CF Brady Clark moved from No Team to Mets Bench.
RP Cha Seung Baek moved from Mariners Minors to Mariners Relief.
SS Mike Morse moved from Mariners Minors to Mariners Bench.
RP Aaron Fultz moved from Indians Minors to Tigers Minors.
SP Kei Igawa moved from Yankees Relief to Yankees Minors.
RF Trot Nixon moved from D’backs Position to D’backs Minors.
DH Jeff Salazar moved from D’backs Bench to D’backs Position.
SP Tim Stauffer moved from Padres Relief to Padres Minors.
CF Jim Edmonds moved from Padres Position to Padres Minors.

It appears that some player equipment has been lost in this update which is an issue they’ll hopefully correct shortly. TJ @ Operation Sports has posted that he is in contact with SCEA and they are working on a fix but an ETA is not yet available. All feedback related to the rosters can be sent to their designated email sceamlbfeedback@gmail.com

    Question for Pasta,

Is Fukudome included in this update? and how significant is the missing equipment? I’m kind of anxious to start my franchise.

Fukudome is in the game in the original roster as Tom Jung…he’s not in the updates so I got all his stats from the original roster and create him myself into the update file. Same goes for Yasuhiko Yabuta on the Royals.

So you say that the cubs have Fukudome right. SO who do they have in the outfield? Is Murton in the bench.

there is still no new roster update for the ps2 though so there’s no Alexei Ramírez from the white sox just a bunch of players like Tom Jung in the game instead of the actual rookies and foreign born players not in the MLBPA.

The whole moving injured players to the minors over and over seems annoying every time you get a roster update you have to move your starters back to the majors and adjust all the lineups that seem annoying.

According to posts at OS apparently the lost equipment is limited to player wrist bands, forearm bands, and sleeves. Doesnt seem like something a lot of people would even notice but it’ll probably just be the next week’s update for those things to be fixed.

I think there was a problem with the 4/7 roster update, like pastapadre said earlier. some players equipment was screwed up so they posted it for the ps3, but didn’t post it for the ps2 and psp. I think they would probably release it either at the end of the week or maybe wait until next week to release the 4/14 update. Look out Detroit fans your ratings are done!!!

Why does everyone care so much about Fukudome? Who really cares, what about all the rest of the players not updated yet. Why is Fukudome so importnat, Cubs won’t win anything this year anyways even with him.

Cueto leads the National League in strikeouts and is only 22 years old. He will be your NL Rookie of the Year not Fukeadummy. Those foreign players shouldn’t even be allowed to be rookie of the year, they are all in the late 20s when they get here.

Clearly, Paul meant players that played professionaly averseas. I.e. Ichiro, Nomo, Matsui, Orlando/Livan Hernandez, etc.
