First Prizefighter full preview

IGN has posted up their early preview of Don King Presents: Prizefighter. Some of the areas discussed include the story mode, aspects of gameplay, the controls, and the soundtrack. You can read the full preview here.

From what I’ve read I really like the sound of the story mode and the overall presentation. 50 fights would be more than enough for me but I’m sure some people out there will wish there was more to it. Still beats what you could get out of Fight Night’s career mode.

As to concerns around gameplay it sounds like some of the things I got a sense of from the trailer, especially the lack of fluidity, is an issue with the game. Although it is worth stating that depending on how old the build was those things could’ve been addressed to a certain extent by the time the game is completed.

There are 80 boxers total in the game, 40 of which are licensed with 30 of those being currently active in the sport.

Yeah I saw that vid, it was really an open-ended comment at the end, nothing concrete. However, if Prizefighter turns out to be a great boxing game, I’d much rather see the PS3 version come out simultaneously with the 360 version for the SEQUEL. I’d hate for a PS3 port to come out late this year or even early next year which would mean that there won’t be a true sequel for at least a couple of years. If this game is sequel-worthy, I’d like for sequels to come out every year.
