With Operation Sports having released a video which displays team rankings and ratings I feel comfortable in going forward with listing out the top 25 teams in NCAA Football 09 (I’ll continue to hold off on the toughest places to play and top player ratings). When it comes to the actual team ratings I wouldn’t put much stock into those. I began taking them down before realizing that the numbers were different each time I viewed the team.
While the top 25 may not be finalized (LSU will probably drop) this should at least offer an idea of how the best teams in the game will fall in place.
#1 Georgia
#2 Oklahoma
#3 Ohio State
#4 USC
#5 Florida
#6 LSU
#7 Missouri
#8 West Virginia
#9 Wisconsin
#10 Texas
#11 Clemson
#12 Texas Tech
#13 Penn State
#14 Arizona State
#15 Kansas
#16 Auburn
#17 Virginia Tech
#18 Illinois
#19 Tennessee
#20 BYU
#21 South Carolina
#22 Alabama
#23 Oregon
#24 Cincinnati
#25 Wake Forest

Wow, I’m surprised that more people are not complaining about the Bearcats being in the top 25. We lost our leader on offense, in QB Ben Mauck. We lost our leader on defense in FS Haruki Nakamura. Although I think by the end of the year the Bearcats will finish in the top 25, I don’t believe they should start there.

Auburn could be very good this year. I wouldn’t bet on them to lose to anybody til they meet Georgia. And that one to me is a tossup. In the end Auburn ought to be around 10-2 come conference championship. Alabama being in the top 25 is ridiculous. There is no reason to expect Alabama to be any good this year at all. Penn State at 13. WTF! They ought to be garbage this year.

Does anyone know what Auburns alternate jerseys look like in the game???
May 27, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Oh yes, baby! My Gamecocks is in the rankings. The reason why is not only they will get back to the bowl game this season, but if we play outstanding well in the SEC, look out. Because the ‘Cocks will be playing in Atlanta come December 6th for the Southeasten Conference championship game & hopefully, will be playing in their 1st Bowl Championship Series game in school history. Now, what do you have to say about that?

Surprised the always overrated Creminoles aren’t in the top 25. They’ve made a few of the college preview mags. Go Canes!!!
June 3, 2008 at 12:36 pm
Well alot of people think Georgia is overrated, but at the end of the season last year, they could have beat anyone…and yes USC fans, they could have kicked the shit out of USC…considering they did lose to Stanford…ha ha

Oregon won’t be top 25 after Purdue shows them what a spread offense really looks like. C. Painter for heisman!

I am a huge Oregon Duck fan, me and my dad have had season tickets for 8 years now so i know my ducks and i must say that Oregon is going to be a pretty good team this year nut most likely wont be PAC-10 champs or in the top 10, and ill agree on two things with the biolermaker fans, some of our jerseys are pretty hiddeous and that the game will be a good one, i can’t wait to watch it! and one comment about the new NCAA 09, why can’t middle of the road teams get any respect! especially for the best people on our teams, come on and do some research.
GO DUCKS!!!!

tOSU (OHIOSTATE) third times the charm no SEC team gonna see us this year Chris Wells will have a lil bronze man posing a stiff arm on his trophy case. The D will be super stingy with the best linebacker core in the nation and the best cover CB (Jenkins)Goodnight

the pac 10 will be the best conference this year followed by big 12 or sec.the acc is next then the lowly big 10 or big east follow .look for texas, usc, florida, oklahoma in the national champ. game this year.georgia and ohio st. are the most over hyped and florida st.,texas tech, south carolina, virginia tech, miami, ucla and oregon are darkhorse’s to make a bsc game.suprise teams this year are going to be oklahoma st.,washington,stanford,miss.st.,boise st.,utah, purdue and arizona. watch and see, remember this post and feel free to agree.
July 3, 2008 at 4:30 am
Also top defensive players in the country will be LB. james lauriniatis from ohio st. and LB. ray maualuga from usc. the best unknown defensive player may be DB. patrick chung from oregon. the top offensive players in the country will be QB. tim tebow from florida (obviously) and WR. micheal crabtree from texas tech. also look for QB. colt mcoy, texas. RB. joe mcknight, usc. QB. jake locker, wash. RB. c.j. spiller, clemson. QB. willie tuitama, arizona. and QB. sam bradford, oklahoma. to get some national attention this year. feel free to agree

Typical quote from an Auburn favorite. Auburn just like Alabama has the potential to be good, but also the possibility of being dissapoiinted. You need to keep in mind that the most important thing is the line of schrimmage and who can control it. Auburn’s breaking in new linemen this year with the exception of a few very talented players. In my opinion, alot of Auburn fans are so often over-zealous……much like many Georgia fans. Just because you were good last year doesn’t mean this year will be the same. Just look at us…..we could have done much better the last couple of years but Injuries and suspensions change things. Be hopeful of the future but don’t put your money on it, the SEC is TOUGH! That fact contributes to why we don’t have 7 teams in the Top 25 year after year, because we beat each other up. This is the Dirty South baby, that’s what we do!
As an Illinois fan I am not sure that they will hold that spot seeing that they lost Rashard and Juice Williams is not really a good qb.
i think lsu should be 4 because u never no with lsu they cuold win another championship. we dont no there qb. for all we no he could be good. and there defense should be the best in the country cause every 1 nos it will be. i like the sec teams put in there because the sec is the best in defense and u no wat they say about defense it wins championships just like lsu’s defense did.
SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!
July 13, 2008 at 8:03 pm
OHIO STATE WILL LOSE TO GERGIA IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP
OR LSU WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST USC AND WE KILL THEM BECAUSE USC SUCK THEY PLAY IN THE PAC-10 AND THE PAC-10 HAS NOTHIN ON THE SEC. BUT THEN AGAIN NO CONFRENCE HAS ANYTHING ON THE SEC
