Top 25 teams in NCAA Football 09

With Operation Sports having released a video which displays team rankings and ratings I feel comfortable in going forward with listing out the top 25 teams in NCAA Football 09 (I’ll continue to hold off on the toughest places to play and top player ratings). When it comes to the actual team ratings I wouldn’t put much stock into those. I began taking them down before realizing that the numbers were different each time I viewed the team.

While the top 25 may not be finalized (LSU will probably drop) this should at least offer an idea of how the best teams in the game will fall in place.

#1 Georgia
#2 Oklahoma
#3 Ohio State
#4 USC
#5 Florida
#6 LSU
#7 Missouri
#8 West Virginia
#9 Wisconsin
#10 Texas
#11 Clemson
#12 Texas Tech
#13 Penn State
#14 Arizona State
#15 Kansas
#16 Auburn
#17 Virginia Tech
#18 Illinois
#19 Tennessee
#20 BYU
#21 South Carolina
#22 Alabama
#23 Oregon
#24 Cincinnati
#25 Wake Forest

OHIO STATE WILL LOSE TO GERGIA IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

OR LSU WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP AGAINST USC AND WE KILL THEM BECAUSE USC SUCK THEY PLAY IN THE PAC-10 AND THE PAC-10 HAS NOTHIN ON THE SEC. BUT THEN AGAIN NO CONFRENCE HAS ANYTHING ON THE SEC
• ben fontenot
i think lsu should be 4 because u never no with lsu they cuold win another championship. we dont no there qb. for all we no he could be good. and there defense should be the best in the country cause every 1 nos it will be. i like the sec teams put in there because the sec is the best in defense and u no wat they say about defense it wins championships just like lsu's defense did.

SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC!
Auburn could be very good this year. I wouldn't bet on them to lose to anybody til they meet Georgia. And that one to me is a tossup. In the end Auburn ought to be around 10-2 come conference championship. Alabama being in the top 25 is ridiculous. There is no reason to expect Alabama to be any good this year at all. Penn State at 13. WTF! They ought to be garbage this year.
Typical quote from an Auburn favorite. Auburn just like Alabama has the potential to be good, but also the possibility of being dissapoiinted. You need to keep in mind that the most important thing is the line of schrimmage and who can control it. Auburn's breaking in new linemen this year with the exception of a few very talented players. In my opinion, alot of Auburn fans are so often over-zealous......much like many Georgia fans. Just because you were good last year doesn't mean this year will be the same. Just look at us.....we could have done much better the last couple of years but Injuries and suspensions change things. Be hopeful of the future but don't put your money on it, the SEC is TOUGH! That fact contributes to why we don't have 7 teams in the Top 25 year after year, because we beat each other up. This is the Dirty South baby, that's what we do!

Also top defensive players in the country will be LB. james lauriniatis from ohio st. and LB. ray maualuga from usc. the best unknown defensive player may be DB. patrick chung from oregon. the top offensive players in the country will be QB. tim tebow from florida (obviously) and WR. micheal crabtree from texas tech. also look for QB. colt mcoy, texas. RB. joe mcknight, usc. QB. jake locker, wash. RB. c.j. spiller, clemson. QB. willie tuitama, arizona. and QB. sam bradford, oklahoma. to get some national attention this year. feel free to agree
• football guru
the pac 10 will be the best conference this year followed by big 12 or sec.the acc is next then the lowly big 10 or big east follow .look for texas, usc, florida, oklahoma in the national champ. game this year.georgia and ohio st. are the most over hyped and florida st.,texas tech, south carolina, virginia tech, miami, ucla and oregon are darkhorse's to make a bsc game.suprise teams this year are going to be oklahoma st.,washington,stanford,miss.st.,boise st.,utah, purdue and arizona. watch and see, remember this post and feel free to agree.
• D
why the @*&! is Michigan not on there!!!!!!!! they beat #5 Florida!!!!!!!!!! who gives a **** if they got a new coach!!!!!
• logan
UGA are you serious they will not stay there long you can count on that
• bdawgh
tOSU (OHIOSTATE) third times the charm no SEC team gonna see us this year Chris Wells will have a lil bronze man posing a stiff arm on his trophy case. The D will be super stingy with the best linebacker core in the nation and the best cover CB (Jenkins)Goodnight
• Duck-a-holic
I am a huge Oregon Duck fan, me and my dad have had season tickets for 8 years now so i know my ducks and i must say that Oregon is going to be a pretty good team this year nut most likely wont be PAC-10 champs or in the top 10, and ill agree on two things with the biolermaker fans, some of our jerseys are pretty hiddeous and that the game will be a good one, i can't wait to watch it! and one comment about the new NCAA 09, why can't middle of the road teams get any respect! especially for the best people on our teams, come on and do some research.

GO DUCKS!!!!
• BoilerUp23
Oregon won't be top 25 after Purdue shows them what a spread offense really looks like. C. Painter for heisman!
• Dillon
Well alot of people think Georgia is overrated, but at the end of the season last year, they could have beat anyone...and yes USC fans, they could have kicked the shit out of USC...considering they did lose to Stanford...ha ha
• VaBeach Giant
Surprised the always overrated Creminoles aren't in the top 25. They've made a few of the college preview mags. Go Canes!!!
• TheDove
The bulls aint there. YOu gotta be kiddin me

:)
• Roy
Oh yes, baby! My Gamecocks is in the rankings. The reason why is not only they will get back to the bowl game this season, but if we play outstanding well in the SEC, look out. Because the 'Cocks will be playing in Atlanta come December 6th for the Southeasten Conference championship game & hopefully, will be playing in their 1st Bowl Championship Series game in school history. Now, what do you have to say about that?
• Jonathan AU fan
Does anyone know what Auburns alternate jerseys look like in the game???

Wow, I'm surprised that more people are not complaining about the Bearcats being in the top 25. We lost our leader on offense, in QB Ben Mauck. We lost our leader on defense in FS Haruki Nakamura. Although I think by the end of the year the Bearcats will finish in the top 25, I don't believe they should start there.
• rap
It's a sad day when my Wolverines aren't in the top 10, I agree we don't deserve right now but we will earn our place back into in college football's elite program!
• bphallstar03
I think the Illini deserve a # 18 spot..everybody is so caught up in whether JUICE can throw or not and i think that he will have his bad days and then have some really good days...but what most people dont realize is that they are going to have one of the top 5 defenses in the country!..and that is why teams like TENN and Arkansas are not above them and another thing..people keep saying that we have lost a star in Rashard Mendenhall..well that may be true..but there were like only ten seniors on the whole team last year..so top 5 defense with a very talented and rapidly maturing team...lol have fun playing us
• TheUofOREGONDUCKS
ok?
• Boilers
Let's bet on it then. "simple as that"
• UofOregonDucks
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Is Oregon in the top 25? yes... is Purdue in the top 25? no... so who do u think is favored in that game?? Oregon... and Oregon wont loose... simple as that
• Boilers
UofOregonDucks, I'd love to bet you on the Purdue-Oregon game, but unfortunately I dont bet with 12 year old kids. If you are going to start arguments that is cool, but have some fact and dont make excuses every time Oregon loses(see posts above).
• WINSTON
CHS5113 WROTE "AUBURN SHOULD FINISH WITH 3 0R 4 LOSSESS" ARE YOU KIDDIBN ME AUBURN WILL LIKELY BE 10-2 BY DECEMBER MEET GEORGIA IN A REMATCH FOR THE SEC TITLE WIN THE REMATCH GEORGIA WILL HAVE ONE LOSS GEORGIA WILL BEAT OSU IN THE BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AUBURN WILL PLAY EITHER MISSORI OR OKLAHOMA IN THE SUGAR BOWL WHILE ALABAMA GOES TO THE MUSIC CITY BOWL WITH 5 LOSSES WAR DAMN EAGLE

Oregon's gona come to ur place nxt year and kick cal's a$$ (and dont mention anything bout last year cuz u no it was a HUGE fluke and the ducks shouldev won that game)so just one last time... shutup!!
• Big Orange GoonSquad!!
It's pretty funny how some are you banging on the SEC and how they aren't that elite. The SEC this year will probably be as good as it ever will be and very capable of having more than half the conference in the top 25 at one time. And for the genius that says UT or Auburn won't be good or doesn't belong in the top 25, go visit any sports site and look at their post-spring top 25 and they are in all of them.

Cal Bear Fan: Just Stop. Please stop. you are embarrassing yourself. Yeah you beat Tennessee last year, yeah it was no where no near the a$$ beating you took in Neyland the year before. Your team peaked in your first game and then you went 6-6. Tennessee wasn't good early but improved throughout the year unlike your team. Yeah I'm sure you guys would have blownout what ended up being the #2 team in the country. You guys would've run through the SEC East I'm sure.
• TheUofOREGONDUCKS
And one of those 3 losses wont be against purdue... i guarentee it
• Griffa02
the University of California Berkely AKA Cal has been lower in the top 25 for NCAA Football for the last 4 years compared to the preseason poles this year there not in it understanable but whach come December top 25

2nd best D in the PAC-10 led by Zach Follett
Best O-Line in the PAC-10 led by Alex Mack San Marcos Royals Alum!!!
and Jeff Tedford calling plays
Top 25 easy
PAC-10 Toughest Confrence in the Country
no respect for the west Coast!! we killed Tennesee they were in the SEC chiampionship game wat does that say!
• Badgerboy 21
Train..chew on this..only a stupid rule kept them from being in there 2 years ago....they were VERY deserving and handled a supposed better Arkansas team that year in the capital one...

Anyway fans from other teams wanna slice it..you cannot ignore reality..and that is UW is a legit big time program now..and way more consistent then Ill..Iowa..and even Penn st....Its not me saying that ..its FACT...im not a Badger homer..just cuz im a fan..im a realist too..im not saying were OSU or ever will be...just saying they are underated..and produce and and develop players as good as anyone in the nation..remember UW doesnt get players to come there like ND..USC...Miami..etc...but they arent far off from those players either..check out rivals someday...a good majority of those big time players have UW in their top 5..its only a matter of time and a few more good years before they get those guys..in my opinion...i could be proved wrong..time will tell..
• smithc6
Hey pasta...when do you think you'll be releasing the top player ratings by position?
• Train
Badger boy, chew on this...

Wisconsin has been to as many BCS Bowl games this decade as Penn State, Illinois and Iowa.
• Anonyman
Illinios would have been much better if Mendenhall had stayed, but #18 seems like a good spot because they play in the overrated Big Ten. I love Georgia this year, but isn't it questionable that they're number one? Top 5 definitely, but top overall is iffy. LSU and West Virginia should be a bit lower. Why is Cinicinnati on that list? Who outside of Ohio can name three players on their team without pulling up a separate window and searching their roster? I'll throw a team out there for you- keep an eye out for Stanford to make some noise, despite their tough conference. Not top 25 material, of course, but I thought I'd just throw that out there.
• jertwa
I really don't know why people have ranked the Ducks so high. Yes I think they deserve it, but nobody justifies it (except saying that Blount did well this spring). Nate Costa is not perfect for our offense, but he has the competitive drive and skills to get it done. I really know nothing about Purdue except Curtis Painter did well last year (basing that off of others' views and his stats). But the Ducks are good this year. I'll be surprised if they lose more than 3 games. GO DUCKS!
• Boilers
I love the "we played bad" excuse. Especially in football. You can play bad in basketball or baseball, but not football. If you lose, you just got beat. Simple as that. Anyways, I'm excited for this game and we'll see what happens Sept. 13. Should be a good 2 year series between Oregon and Purdue.
• Badger Boy21
Apparently you forget about Chris Chambers..Lee Evans..Owen Daniels..Casey Rabach...Ross Kolodzei..Mark Tauscher..???

I hate to admit this but i grew up and still am a Miami fan..and i realize that as true talent UW cant stack up with the miami greats..but to not recognize them as a one of the top 2-3 programs in the big ten is plain ignorant and shows your lack of knowledge for college football..tradition wise there not OSU or Michigan or even Penn St...but if Tradition started in 93...itd be hard to find that many teams with more success and a better bowl record then UW..thats just the truth..not fan speak...

They are soo underated in BOTH football AND basketball its not even funny..and its all cuz before the 90's hit they were abysmal..but its time to start recognizing..

And you should be proud to be a miami fan....they will be back this year i predict...as long as Robert Marve is the QB...peace
• TheUofOREGONDUCKS
Ummm... if its a good game between purdue and oregon then oregon played bad... and oregons quarterback this year (costa)fits in perfect with oregons offense... he will make ppl forget bout dixon... and nobody ever talks bout oregon so how are they always overated??
