More NCAA Football 09 online dynasty talk

Through numerous recent previews the online dynasty feature of NCAA Football 09 continues to be a central topic of discussion. With most of the previews touching on the same things below are two that are worth checking out.

NCAA Strategies has posted up an interview with NCAA Football 09 producer Ben Haumiller. This was recorded on the night of the cover reveal event. It mainly covers the online dynasty feature but does briefly delve into other areas of the game. There were also some follow-up questions/responses after. You can find both the podcast and Q&A here.

Gamespot’s preview goes into the feature at great length. It has been stated that anything done in the offline dynasties will work in the online ones. Despite that it is good to hear each one specifically such as how named rosters will transfer through. There may not be a whole lot new here but it presents a good compilation of everything that is known.

I’m curious for those of you out there looking forward to playing in an online dynasty are you more interested in having every user involved in a single conference or spread out wherever they choose to be?

I would rather see every user in the same conference. This would make it much more competitive. Plus, most likely it would make recruiting harder because of Geographics and having to recruit against schools close in proximity and possibly same pipe-line states.

What i am curious of is how much time EA loses in actually making there games good, the actual game i am talking about. All i ever hear about for madden and ncaa is online this online that. Id like to actually see them put more time into making the game good, so you dont have all those problems with the real game, the one that you pay money for. Im talking about the unrealistic gameplay to a sense. Where you got DL and OL looking like idiots playing for you, for example. People just nag about this and that for online, and when it finally comes out you still got 85% of people online who just cheat to win. Believe me i love madden and ncaa its just their probaly putting a ridiculous amount of time into all this online stuff and losing time on actually making the game better. Thats why we keep getting the same game over and over again just updated visuals and little things. Even when all this “new” stuff for online is out, it probaly wont be enough for people to handle and theyll ride EAs d”cks for more stuff to put online. Then well just keep getting the same game but “cooler” stuff for online.

Has anyone seen the Gamespot 8-10 videos? They came out last night I guess. In those three videos the gameplay looks like it has been slowed down. It looks a little more realistic at times but I think that it was slowed down too much. That or the people playing changed the slider settings.

Yeah looking forward to doing one. I’m also hopeful that myself and some of the community leaders will be able to start one up pre-release and display a lot of it for everyone.

See, I would much rather spread it out a little bit. I think it would be most fun to have 3 players in 4 different major conferences or 4 in 3. That way, you don’t beat up on each too much and can always set up non-conference games together if need be. Absolutely cannot wait for this game, though. This feature alone has sold me. Nothing (to me) is more fun than a dynasty/franchise mode with other users.

I would definitely prefer everyone in the Big Ten conference, as I mainly watch that in real life. But it would mean that when it gets to bowl season, our teams would most likely not play eachother, after beating eachother up throughout the season.

It would be awesome to have all 12 players in the SEC conference. Then again, it would be hard because you would have to find someone who would be willing to play as vanderbilt Lol.

I agree with what Steve said. I think it would be better to spread it out a little. That way someone could actually have a chance to play in the Championship game. You could also make it where everyone could have 1 OOC game against someone else in the league, making it more exciting.

I think spreading it out a bit is a better idea. Sure you get to play a bunch of conference games with one another if you stick together, but I think it would be WAY more intense to play against someone in a bowl game. Or what if you got matched up with a buddy for the national championship? That would be sick

That is the way I’m leaning too. The other thing that could factor into it is how the less user vs user games would (in most cases) allow for things to move at a faster pace since you wouldn’t have to wait as much on people coordinating schedules (a major headache for traditional online leagues).
