The best thing would be EA utilizing the developers/programmers to create some great sports games and actually bring their image back up. I'm all for buying the business but only if it's being used to better the games
They won't be able to utilize the programmers from Visual Concepts or Kush if those programmers decide to leave, which many of them already made it know that that's what they will do if the takeover happens. There aren't many seasoned, talented developers out there that will willingly work for EA. I see the Thomas brothers and others at VC leaving to form their own company.

EA isn't going to shut down everything, but they would most certainly shut down 2K Sports, which is really the relevant point for us. There is zero chance that they would do anything beyond hire a few programmers off the old staff. All the 2K lineup would be history.

First off you don't offer 2 billion dollars to buy a company then shut it down. If and When EA buys TTI there will definitely be utilized for a profit. My guess is that Visual Concepts and Kush would be used to develop sports games for the newly named freestyle brand. That would mean games like 2k's The Bigs would be a nice fit. VC could probably do something with the struggling NFL tour which is total garbage or maybe bring back SSX to next gen. I don't think they would necessarily combine studios to make the mainstream titles. I think that would be counter productive and ruin the franchises.
