NCAA Football 09 comparison video

EA Sports has posted up a new video for NCAA Football 09 that spotlights some of the advancements the game has made this year compared to last. You’ll see examples of what I could only describe after playing as the natural look and feel in the movement of players. That includes the movement during pre-snap and while catching kickoffs, running down the sidelines, convoy blocking with celebrations, bobbled catches, and post play continuation. It’s a pretty extensive look at areas that haven’t been really been displayed in the gameplay videos that are out.

I actually didn’t see the convoy blocking in the build we played last month. I pointed out an issue which looked awkward where one blocker would keep ahead of the ball carrier even if there was no one out there to block, rather than turn around and take on someone who was trailing. That may have been the first signs of the convoy but hopefully they’ve addressed that to where they won’t just run out ahead when they could be assisting the ball carrier properly.

Wow it looks great and I loved when the guy tried to return the dropped pass after the guy got nailed but they called it an incomplete pass.

I agree with Speedster, ncaa is looking better and better compared to Madden. This year I wont be suprised if more than the normal bunch go with NCAA over madden.

I love that they are showing us what they’ve improved on. All sports gaming needs to take this attitude to winning it’s fans over. I’ll be picking this up even though NBA is my game.

Thats the plan yeah, I’ll have to narrow it down to just 11 people joining in though because of the user limit being 12. At some point down the line I’ll post asking for people who are interested to send me their info and such. It should be really fun especially since I’ll do updates on the site based on what is happening in the franchise and posting screens/videos.

After that last BYU/BC video I have to admit I was a little bit skeptical. But after watching that video all I can say is WOW! This game is going to be amazing and I am definitely going to get it. The only thing that I can see holding this game back is if the servers are laggy like they were last year!

Yea, i gotta admit, ALL the animations looked ALOT better. Most of the players actually moved like humans. Still , if it feels like you are reliving the same game over and over again, with NO atmosphere as in the previous next-gen versions, it wont matter, the game will be boring by the end of the first week.

i cant wait. i like a lot of the new things.. the convoy blocking/celebrations.. the bobble catches.. the analog control.. the online dynasty.. the post play things (especially where the player picks up the ball and runs when its called incomplete).. and the homefield advantage
