Euro 2008 is easily the best soccer game ever made - hands down. I can't wait to see how they improve on these improvements (from FIFA 08) for FIFA 09. Hopefully they can address some of the frame rate issues and the graphics popping in when the camera cuts during cutscenes. The gameplay, though, is absolutely rock solid.

Yeah Ed is right the basic controls are not that bad, all you need is turbo, pass, shoot, cross, and the occasional through ball.

Have you tried adjusting the camera in the game? I find that set on broadcast that I do indeed have that feeling. Also IMO the basic controls are no more involved than Madden, hockey or basketball. Baseball has the simplest controls. Once you get beyond the basic level then there is some complexity to the controls.
It would have been nice to try this game but FIFA is coming out soon too, the only thing that bothers me about soccer games (which is also how it is on TV) is the camera view is too far out.
Agreed, when I played 08 I felt like I was sitting on top of the stadium lol.

I feel the same way. I really want to play these games but I don't have the patience for the sport or to learn the intricate controls that make the game so good.
