NBA Live 09 will have ground-breaking feature

As the speculation over NHL 09′s “massive” online feature that has “never been seen in a sports game before” continues, word comes that NBA Live 09 will apparently deliver something on the same scale. According to Peter Moore in his latest blog entry, the game will have the most ground-breaking feature of any EA Sports release this year.

I’m not surprised that NBA LIVE, which jumped 15 points in review scores a year ago, has the most ground-breaking feature from our lineup this year and we’ll unveil it next month at E3.

This year E3 takes place July 15th-17th, though EA’s press conference is scheduled for Monday July 14th at 3pm PT. This feature then will likely be revealed during the press conference.

With the inclusion of Be A Pro mode in NHL it seems to be a strong possibility that NBA Live will get its own Superstar type mode. However that then wouldn’t qualify as the “ground-breaking feature”. The most common response for what NHL’s might be is a MMO type mode with your Be A Pro player. We don’t know whether NBA Live’s is online related or not, but any guesses as to what this new feature could be or thoughts on what you would like it to be?

If I can play a dynasty as a pg and have 4 friends play the other positions through out the entire season that would be sick. Online Franchise but on the same team.

Me and a few friends are preying this will happen in Madden/Ncaa football someday so we dont all have to meet up at 1 person’s house to get are 4 player Dynasty/Franchise mode on. How sick would it be if we could all play on the same team in a Franchise/Dynasty and be at home? (That would be my ultimate feature)

Maybe it can happen for nba live 09 and transelate into Madden10/Ncaa10.

I’ll keep dreaming lol.

Last year, the Europe teams-feature was a failure, seems like EA never learn from mistakes, You can not sell a mediocre product, even if You work with a crew of 50 people for marketing and 20 people for game development. You can do it for one year (Live 06), less gamer are gonna believe You next year (Live 07), and it seems LIve 09 is on the same path.
Ea wants ground-breaking feature? I know one. Make Live 09 playable, improve the gameplay and the player moves drastically!!!

According to these NBA Live 06 gets 63%, 07 gets 60% and 08 earned only 70% from the critics. Climbed from a deep hole. Among NBA 2ks, 2k7 leads with 85%, 2k8 got 80%. So Live 08 became 10% better, but still 10% behind 2k8.
Forget my anger, I am only a dissapointed Live fan, who fed up with promises, and shitty games. I have a feeling, that politicans are on the top of EA…:)

I don’t care Live and 2k have gotten stale….Live haven’t gotten where it needs to be and 2k is hardly improving I owned 2k8 and I swear it look and feel like 2k7……so Im skipping NBA titles this year and I plan on moving that money to that TNA iMPACT! game

I thought NHL had the most groundbreaking feature never before seen in a video game. Whatever feature this is will surely be the most groundbreaking feature ever…………………until they unveil their plans for Tiger Woods 09, which would be the most groundbreaking until they unveil FIFA.

Maybe it’ll be the ability to fix games and call fouls late in the fourth quarter so your favorite team can win.

I bought NBA live for the PS2 when it came out. When I got my PS3 I bought NBA 2K8 just to try something new, and I think I’m a 2K guy now. I mostly play Dynasty/Franchise mode, and I thought that NBA Live has gotten worse and worse with this feature each year lately. My bet for this and NHL is something like being able to play as one player on a team with your friends and go through a season together. Both games are basically 5 on 5 (6 if you include the goalie), so it sort of relates. Each person controls one player/position and you all progress together through a season.

It won’t be online and it won’t be a dynasty/franchise mode, just a single season.

This Peter Moore guy’s an old shoe saleman, who will tell you the shirt on his back is “ground-breaking” if he wants you to buy it. Given EA’s history, and I’ve been buying Madden and NHL since 1991, I’ll believe it’s ground-breaking when I see it, not when Peter and Pasta tell me it will be.
