EA Sports Fantasy Football has opened

Sign-ups are now open for EA Sports Fantasy Football. You can visit the site and register for leagues or teams by going here. For all of the details on the new options and other improvements for this year check out my interview with the producers from back in May. Features such as the live console draft (which was demonstrated at the community event and is very cool) and the stat tracker won’t launch until later dates.

If you are interested in participating in the pastapadre.com fantasy football league leave a comment letting me know. Make sure the email address you enter in for the comment is valid as that would be the way I would contact you. Given that the slots will be limited I apologize to anyone who doesn’t end up being chosen. The determination on who is selected won’t come for a while given that the live draft for the league likely won’t be held until near the end of August.

The site didn’t actually launch until just now. Drop any issues you are having and I can pass them along.

I would like to bring my Seattle Mad Men to the Fantasy Football League. I am very dedicated and not one of those dead beat owners. I stick with my team win lose or draw. I’ve been doing fantasy football for many years so I know how a team that is not kept up with can mess up a league.

I’ve got my team logo all ready to go:

Any idea if you’ll be able to do the console draft on different consoles? Like if I have a 360 and another friend has a PS3 will we be able to do the same league that way?

The console draft is just done on one console, its for people who gather to hold draft parties basically. When it comes to taking your team into Madden or using the live stats program it doesnt matter whether its on the PS3 or 360.

Yeah, uh, not for me. Last time I signed up I think I got stuck with punters and kickers. It’s still a good idea, but you should see the reaction over at Kotaku. Talk about ripping Madden a new hole…

The reaction at Kotaku is from people who don’t understand what is being offered. The title is sensationalist and inaccurate.

I would be interested in the football league if any spots are still available, my email address is:

    nick.kron@gmail.com.

Either way I really enjoy the site as someone who exclusively plays sports games and always seemed to be struggling to find info about them.

I think it would be cool if they could do leagues for real money.
