I hope they implement the feature that allows you to receive a win online win someone quits without finishing the entire game. If you were winning by 21 in the 3rd quarter or 17 after the 4th an option would appear to end the game and receive the win if your opponent quit. In 08 madden you had to finish the game
if your opponent quit.

How embarrassing.

That feature was only implemented in Xbox 05. Yes this feature stopped me form playing Madden last year. I had people quitting left and right and I was not going to finish a game against the AI. So I stopped playing. Hello NBA 2k8.

I wonder if they will finally get the Cowboys uniforms right for home games.

Hint: They don’t wear Blue at home.

…I really hope this settles down the critics, EA appears to be reestablishing trust with the madden community, and putting out a better product!

I wish all the nerds in their basements would realize what goes into making a game of this caliber, this stuff does take time to fix, they have no freekin’ idea!! Especially when completely revamping the whole game and with new systems, it can’t all come in one year!

i love using this in franchise mode, because it makes it feel more realistic.

Earlier today OS member adembroski posted an excellent explanation of why this is such a big deal:

It allows you to play longer quarters and still have a realistic number of plays (NFL games average around 120 snaps).

Now, you can achieve a realistic number of plays without it by playing 8 minute quarters, but this has the effect of making the play clock accounting for a much larger percentage of the total amount of time, and hurts time management aspect of the game.

For example, in a real NFL game, you start “running out the clock” at around 4:00 minutes (hence why late game running strategies to protect a lead are referred too as “4 minute offense”)… in the NFL, this is less than a third of a quarter. In Madden, at 8 minute quarters, it’s a half a quarter… an 8th of the entire game can be killed without the accelerated clock, thus giving a substantial advantage to the human player since the computer does not take advantage of this quirk.

Additionally, without the accelerated clock, it actually takes longer to go into hurry-up and call a play at the line than it does to enter the huddle, call a play, and rush to the line, since the players sort of “teleport” into the huddle between plays, but must run to the line when in the hurry up.
