More videos from Madden 09, this time showcasing some of the post-TD celebrations in the game. Previous discuss has centered around specific players having their own unique celebrations, the ability to “steal” an opponent’s celebration, and team specific celebrations such as the Lambeau Leap. Also there has been the community suggestion to have the option of turning off the boxes of light in the end zone that are designated for activating different which EA did listen to (they are not visible higher play styles).
IGN has posted examples of some of the different types of celebrations. Chad Johnson, Terrell Owens, goal post slam dunk (shorter players will do a layup), and the Lambeau Leap are spotlighted.
The depiction of the Lambeau Leap is the one which will surely generate the most reaction. Unfortunately the Leap was not seen at the community event only to find out that it is some bizarre wall crawl.
Continue on to view the videos.

WTF is that that’s NOT the LEAP
June 23, 2008 at 9:36 pm
oh yea 1st & 2nd ya dig
June 23, 2008 at 9:43 pm
The Lambeau Leap looked HORRID! Glad to hear that you can turn off the light squares tho.
December 22, 2008 at 8:05 am
How do you turn the light suares off ??
June 23, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Well if EA were to do the leap correctly, that would mean making realistic fans to grab him….and god forbid they do that…
June 23, 2008 at 10:07 pm
i was curious how they would make the lambeau leap work…especially since the fans aren’t designed to come in contact with the players…i really thought there would be a cut scene…that dude looked like spiderman hanging on the wall..
June 23, 2008 at 10:11 pm
pasta, what game do you think is better, ncaa or madden?
June 23, 2008 at 10:16 pm
Go figure the lambeau leap/crawl is against the Bears lol
June 23, 2008 at 10:20 pm
pasta, what game do you think is better, ncaa or madden?
That’s not really a determination I’m in a position to make. I can say that I think NCAA has the edge on new features but I was very encouraged by the entire package presented by Madden and that was the most enjoyable time I’ve had with a game at any event to date.
June 23, 2008 at 10:29 pm
Wow this game looks stupid. What NFL game have you ever seen where there are that many cameras going off after a touchdown? Ridiculous. And the Lambou Leap is awful…last time I checked Peter Parker wasn’t a Packer. They made this game cartoonish and it looks terrible, not to metion Tom Hammond’s voice sounds like an automated movie-phone guy. Zero emotion is the man’s voice, I honestly think I might fall asleep while playing this game…at least until the thousands of flashing bulbs wake me right up.
June 23, 2008 at 10:39 pm
Pasta while you’re here, since online leagues don’t have divisions, how will playoff teams be determined?
June 23, 2008 at 11:02 pm
pasta – dont know if you’re aware, but IGN is posting full on madden ratings(each player, each rating category) for each division one day at a time, as of now they have all the AFC teams
just FYI
June 23, 2008 at 11:26 pm
If u guys havent noticed, both Ocho Cinco snd TOs celebrations were from Madden 08…..They were just rare
June 23, 2008 at 11:42 pm
WTF was with that leap? The sad thing is, people will be flaming on it a ton and a reason to continue Madden hate.
But on a serious note, I think those damn flashbulbs are going to give people seizures. Tone them down 90%.
June 24, 2008 at 1:09 am
if u actually get on the website and read wat pasta says…he already told us that ea already turned down the camera flashes
June 24, 2008 at 3:23 am
the commentary really does sound like robots.
June 24, 2008 at 5:30 am
that leap was sooo stupid…they should take it out the game. there is no way packers fans want that horrible thing in the game. they have no time to fix it. as for the other 2. i thought we were gonna see ocho cinco river dance or propse to a cheerleader. and maybe see TO pull a sharpe out like in Madded 04.
June 24, 2008 at 6:04 am
if u actually get on the website and read wat pasta says…he already told us that ea already turned down the camera flashes
Well they said they were going to. We haven’t actually seen it yet though.
Pasta while you’re here, since online leagues don’t have divisions, how will playoff teams be determined?
Just by the best records, I’m not sure on tie-breakers.
June 24, 2008 at 6:09 am
Lol@the Lambeau Leap.
June 24, 2008 at 6:22 am
The Lambeau Leap thing is what frustrates people about EA. Why even put that in, if you aren’t going to go through the effort to make it look right? The majority of people would rather it not even be in the game, if it is going to look so stupid.
June 24, 2008 at 6:36 am
That really looks cartoon-ish, but I’ll still be getting Madden like normal. Pasta they haven’t eliminated the passing cone have they?!?!
June 24, 2008 at 7:22 am
lawl i like the slam dunk and he jumped like 50 ft in the air
June 24, 2008 at 7:32 am
i didn’t know that spiderman played for the packers!
June 24, 2008 at 7:44 am
what about the slam dunk/or was it a jump hook shot. pathetic ea.
June 24, 2008 at 8:06 am
HEY PASTA,
DO WE HAVE A USER CAMERA IN THE GAME?? ALSO, DO WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO SECT THE CAMERA ANGLE BOTH VERTICALLY, AND HORIZONTALLY??
THANKS b
June 24, 2008 at 8:17 am
It looks like Jennings is Spider-Man in the Lambau Leap video, horrid.
June 24, 2008 at 8:32 am
the lambeau leap would look better if he had jumped and sat on the wall, right?
June 24, 2008 at 9:37 am
that looked like a layup
June 24, 2008 at 9:57 am
gotta love the spidey leap…….
June 24, 2008 at 10:03 am
I am losing it after see that “Lambeau Leap.” That looked so stupid.
June 24, 2008 at 10:07 am
The Lambeau Leap seemed somewhat realistic compared to the slam dunk.
June 24, 2008 at 11:28 am
who knows, maybe after some of the packer players play Madden, they might have themselves a new celebration. Introducing the Spidey-Leap.
June 24, 2008 at 12:30 pm
I think we can all agree that because Madden is such a popular game EA will never be able to please everyone. Most people complained about the radio announcer and they added a real broadcast team. I personally didn’t have a problem with the radio guy. At least he brought emotion. My issue with EA is their priorities. I know they want to appeal to the casual gamer but there are many ways to go about doing that. The BackTrack feature is a great feature because it bennifits both the hardcore & casual gamer. When it comes to user celebrations & things like that, are they really more important than refs, chaingangs, progressive lighting, etc…? Not saying that the celebrations aren’t cool, but I would’ve rather had more important aspects of an NFL game included than having gimic features added. I know they said they “didn’t have time to add those things this year” but 4 years in should be plenty of time. I know it’s a mute point because the game is done this year but I just hope that EA prioritizes a little better going forward. Still waiting to see an updated video with the camera flashes toned. They need to be drastically toned down. I only want to see maybe a total of 20 flashes throughout the whole game. They’re way overdone! Save the excessive flashes for the Super Bowl.
June 24, 2008 at 1:32 pm
WTF why is T.O. have the number 83? lol and he didnt even dunk it..i hope they fix that shit or else id rather they not even have it
June 24, 2008 at 3:28 pm
They really need to fix the Lambeau Leap & the dunk celebration. The guy had like a 90 inch vertical! WTF?
June 24, 2008 at 3:32 pm
I agree with you Josh…Its hard to please every single fan. But the whole, theres not enough time, is ridiculous. I have NO problem with Madden and NCAA taking another 2-3 months or w/e they need to make a great game. If you cant finish a game…Then why rush it?
June 24, 2008 at 3:50 pm
The guy with the number 83 isn’t T.O. Dallas does have another receiver, his name is Terry Glenn. T.O. isn’t the only Cowboy on the planet…but he is the biggest pile.
June 24, 2008 at 3:53 pm
…also, to all the complainers. If you don’t like the celebrations, then DON’T DO THEM. EA tries to put everything in the game, just like everyone wants. No everything will look up to everyone’s standards. Especially not Madden fans. Most are so crazy particular that nothing will please them.
…so if you don’t like Madden or EA, shut up, leave the message boards, and find another game to whine about! Because you will never be happy!
June 24, 2008 at 8:57 pm
damn….i hope they got my FAM F1RST
June 24, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Chad Johnson and TO’s celebrations were okay but the other two were BAD…
June 25, 2008 at 8:43 am
lol omg at the lambeau leap i bet you ps2 could have a better one because on some cut scenes the fans look very realistic and the player actually jumps into the crowd
June 25, 2008 at 5:59 pm
O_O the spiderman leap looks horrible.
June 26, 2008 at 9:06 pm
WOW Clelbrations look madd hott fam Pasta Any word on the Madden 09 Demo????
June 27, 2008 at 3:22 pm
I see that you can still throw 80 yards in the air.
July 3, 2008 at 1:22 am
they said there’d be more flashing cameras during the superbowl… i can only imagine lol
July 3, 2008 at 9:16 am
dont complain there is obviously more time to fix some very very minor problems so jus take your whining somewhere were someone cares
