Last night I opened up a thread in the forum to take on questions from the community. Whether game related or not I’ll take the time and try to answer (at least to the extent that I can). So far it has been interesting, with topics ranging from the Madden related to preferred type of shampoo and favorite character on Lost.

Once given the go-ahead to discuss NBA Live 09 I’ll have a lengthy report on the game however there will still be quite a lot that I won’t have included within it. So for that I’ll also have a thread for taking on questions. I should be getting some type of an update today on when the clearance to discuss the game will be given.

Update: Disappointing news on the NBA Live front. We’ve been asked to hold back until after the E3 press conference on July 14th. Considering NCAA Football releases right then I’m a little baffled by that decision.

I’m hoping that we will be able to talk about Live as early as tomorrow, but it may not be until next week.

Pasta-Do you agree that it seems EA just hasnt quite lived up to out expectations since the next gen systems came out..for instance NCAA, it just seems too much is being left out that shouldnt be, and now live still isnt on par with 2k…thats seems impossible to fathom

Hello Pasta,

Just curious… since you are a Husky fan, what outcome to you predict when Washington comes to Autzen to play the Ducks on August 30th? As a biased Duck fan, I happen to think it will be an Oregon win. But it’s a very dangerous Opening Game with an unpredictable Husky team. Locker is scary, and an obvious threat; but will he be enough to score on one of the most talented Oregon Defenses in recent school history? I’d be interested to hear your opinion!

Oh, and another thing…. I’d love to set up a single online game with you! I know you’ll be busy with the online dynasty, but let me know if you’d like to play a preview of that highly anticipated Pac-10 opener! (I’d obviously be playing with the Ducks!!) Let me know if that would be do-able!!!

Definitely feel good in any game with Jake Locker, but I really don’t know how the team will shape out this year. Yep I’m definitely open to getting some games in outside of the dynasty and specific events.

I think thats a fair assessment, but there is also a lot more they are doing with these games. That just gets overshadowed by what is missing.

They should be practically identical, but personally I’d still lean 360 because I prefer the controller and there is a bigger online base of players. Ultimately I think just going with the version you’re most comfortable with is the best bet.

Pasta, what’s the point of EA letting you preview the game if you can’t discuss it yet? If that’s the case why don’t they just wait until E3 for everyone to preview the game. That’s teasing us. Maybe these companies are advertising their games way too early to try to get an advantage on the competition. Take Madden for example..They started advertising in April and now we know everything about the game but we have to wait almost 2 months to get the game. Maybe they should start advertising a little more closer to the release date.

Part of the benefit of going early though is that our feedback can potentially be implemented. If you wait until later that isn’t a possibility.

As far as I know the only changes were fixing the camera so it doesnt swing around at a change of possession and being able to stick in an activity (such as practice) for the full “week” to cut down on having to go in and out and waste time loading. I also noticed some improvements in the play calling and QB AI.
