Ran into multiple problems with off-season schedule, including: failure to record and save recruiting from one week to next (second week of recruiting reflected none of the work/time spent during the first week), lack of recruiting minutes (began week five w/ZERO minutes available to recruit), transferred players were not signed and added to roster, players leaving early left despite convincing them otherwise. Due to the multiple errors my team signed only 14 players in the off-season, and dropped in overall talent despite finishing #9 in the country.

This is NOT an issue of too many teams (my league only has two).

Dude you can get NFL 2K5 from Gamestop for $1. I got it the other day for the same reason you want to get it. The funny thing is that I never really appreciated 2K5 when it came out but after a few years of disappointing ‘Next Gen” football games it made me realize how far ahead of it’s time this game was. I’ve never bought a 2K football game before buying this one & I regret it. I can honestly say that 2K5 is better than Madden 08 on ‘Next Gen” & I’ve been one of the biggest Madden fans since ‘92 so I’m not bias in anyway.

Personally I don’t care about online featues. It’s cool to have as an extra feature but I’m more concerned with playing a true NFL sim. Madden is a good game but that doesn’t mean there still aren’t basic aspects of an NFL game that are still left out. I’ve been playing Madden since ‘92 & I just want EA to prioritize better that’s all. Once they master presentation & adding everything that a real NFL game has in it then they should master online features.

You may remember me from MN way back in the day. If you do you know I have been a commissioner of leagues as far back as I can remember with Madden. I got a group of guys together from my Madden league to take part in this and I have to say I am dissapointed once again. Here is the issues we currently face (PS3):

Almost half of the scores from the first week changed when advancing to the 2nd week, in one case a user team that lost actually got the win in the game. We havent had any lockout problems but something needs to be done. I fought and fought with EA over the Merge error fix for 3 years straight and they never fixed that feature. This is early enough that something may be able to do about it. We as a community of Gamers need to get an Email address or phone number of someone in Power over at EA and make it a point to bombard them with complaints about this until the issue is resolved. Enough people (especially people on this site and other online sites) have enough interest in the OD feature and for the money we all shell out every year to support this company they owe it to us to fix this in a timely manner. A patch may not even be needed to resolve this issue since the main issue is related to their servers. Perhaps an edit to the server can resolve this. But lets get together and make something happen here instead of just complaining to one another.

Yeah absoutely I remember you from back then man. So the latest is that an engineer from the NCAA team contacted me about it, got some info and such, and is looking into the issue. It sounds to me as if there is some sort of unnatural merging going on, which could explain both the problem with my dynasty and the problem with those that are having scores show up wrong. I’m not sure what (if anything) will come of it, but they are actively trying to get this figured out.[/quote]

We are in season two right now, the recruiting went well. Had to change the sliders a bit in the off-season (I went 12-0 with Cinci). That was way too easy.

The only thing that has happened, is that every now and then the depth charts reset and I have to go back and put the few freshman I have starting back in position.

I will update you if I have any problems, but not yet, smooth sailing for now.
