NCAA Football 09 Patch Details

this is off the subject but in ncaa 09 is there progressive lighting like in ncaa 08?

in ncaa 08 when you play a 6 pm game it will slowly turn into darkness by the 4th quarter.
in ncaa 09 when you play a 6 am game the field is orange and i dont notice a change by the end of the game.

ps the orange lighting hurts my eyes. i cant stand it.

whats the issue with the strafe catch?

Hey Pasta, this may be a dumb question…. Is it possible to send a man in motion, and then have that guy return motion before he gets all the way across the screen? It’s frustrating to have to wait until he goes in motion, becomes set, then send him back. Motion is a great weapon on offense to see what kind of defense you are facing before the snap of the ball.

Is this possible in the game? And if not, can it be addressed via patch?

Hey Pasta one of the problems with people rolling out alll day long is that the QB contain routes are busted. In NCAA 08 if I called a DE Contain i.e. as soon as the QB left the pocket the DE’s would attack him like “a bat out of hell” this kept people from rolling all over the field like they can in 09.

In NCAA 09 You can call DE contain or hot route a DE to a contain route and he will pretty much just stand and watch as the QB takes off. This was terribly dissappointing to me and also a huge reason why NCAA 09 is a “cheesers” dream. They can roll out and drop as deep as they want without consequence. I’m a little discouraged that the pass rush/qb contain wasn’t mentioned.

If they can fix the kick coverage I would be thrilled. I am using Clemson and C.J. Spiller has 10 punt return TD’s and five KO return TD’s….

Yes, Spiller is sweet but how about a little bit of realism….I smell Heisman…

The other thing I wish they could add is the ability to see how many pride stickers each player has earned during the year by looking up their stats. It used to be indicated in the past-gen versions.

Also, some of the pride stickers are invisible in the gameplay view but when you go to instant replay and zoom in you can see them clearly….

How about EA doesn’t rush out another mediocre game, and then have to basically “create” an entirely new game with a patch???? While I love the NCAA series, this is getting ridiculous. A little more beta testing next time?? Thanks

what about the qb vision? is it still in the game?

In order for this game to even be considered remaining inside my game library, the DL issue must be addressed. I can not count the number of times I’ve watched a DL run with the QB only to sit and watch him while he rolled out. Whoever is responsible for testing this game did an absolutely horrible job of informing the developers regarding all the bugs and glitches this game has. If the patch can include several other fixes besides the obvious DL issue, the PR/KR issues, QB accuracy issues, made FG’s that don’t count, fields that don’t deteriorate over the game and others then perhaps this is a game worth keeping. Personally speaking I should have kept my NCAA 08 as it was a more complete game even though 09 has more potential if all the issues are fixed.

However, I don’t understand why a company like EA would stake their reputation on the line like this with such a horrible product, partiuclarly with Peter Moore at the helm. I realize in the past no matter what EA does there will always be those who complain no matter what but with this release I have to agree with them.

yeah the kick coverage is horrible in my online dynasty im lsu and holliday has about 13 td’s all together on returns and im not even done with the season yet and i returned it with him about 20 times

I hope they fixed the bug where the ball would hit the upright, bounce out for a miss, and the kicking team retains the ball at their own 20 yard line ala a touchback…

How about EA gets my teams uniforms right just for once!!! for some reason washington states helmets are gray when they are both home and away in the game, I’m sorry but Washington states helmets are gray when at home and crimson when they are away, it’s not an alternate jersey, it’s the right uniform!!!! EA needs to do better research if they screw up a major conference like the pac ten like that… that’s just sad

They decided not to patch in or offer any downloadable jerseys this year.

Is anyone else having problems getting online with NCAA? I mean at all? My buddy can’t get online period with NCAA but did when it first was released and also any other title. I read somewhere a guy with a 360 was having the same issue. My buddy and I both play on PS3. Just curious how isolated this problem really is. He deleted all NCAA related saves and even took back the game for a new one and same problems.

pasta how about the pass covergae do a screen pass with ur rb it works everytime and no way to stop unles manueal coverage

When will new post-patch copies of the game ship, (I have a PS2 with no modem).
I won’t buy the game if they don’t pull what’s out there and reship a working as promised piece of software. I really would like to buy it, EA. This troubles me. Or down-price this buggy monster for $20 since you’re delivering a hot mess.

You have been able to do this for years. And you still can.
If you have playstation….just hit square and R2.
All you have to do is audible back to your original play while your man is in motion.
I always do it…and guys I am playing are always like ” How did you do that Dude”?
iTS so easy and have been there since the game came out 20 years ago….works on every system and every madden and ncaa game.

I can solve your qb contain issue.
Just blitz a corner or the corners while you are in qb contain.
Its difficult because we dont have alot of time on defense to do coverage audibles….but you can actually coverage man to man with a free saftey or saftey (cover the man that the corner blitzing is suppose to be covering),
Its a really sweet technique and works great.
You just have to use your coverage audible fast…you gat better and better the more you do it. You will be thanking me!
On playstation ….on defense….hit coverage audible (triangle) while being on a saftey or free saftey, then you have to hit your left analog stick to the left ( it will read MAN) , then pick a reciever you want to cover.
It sweet , it can either double cover, you can even triple cover…or cover a a reciever or running back that is not covered at all (incase the man covering is blitzing)
This also works sweet on the online players that try throwing to running backs and fullbacks in the flats…..PICK-OFFS LIKE CRAZY!

so whatever the actually weather is like wherever you are playing….its like that in real life.
Its going to be sweet when its snowing in the winter! i HAVE already played games in the rain. I look on the computer, see where its raining and play games there. Its really cool.
This game should get 9.5 out of 10….its the best football game by far! For you that dont like it?????Are you crazy!

The FG problem.
The worst part in the game….but there is hope.
You can freeze the kicker during certain situations in the game. Use your TIME-OUTS PEOPLE!
so many of you never use them when someone is kicking a fg.
This works tremendously.
I have had so many people miss easy fgs on me.
((((((((((((((((Not just the freezing))))))))))))))))(there is actually ice over the kicking meter)…but the more to’s you use the harder it is to kick. If I have 2 or 3 to’s left and I know I am not going to use them before the half….i use the right before the guy kicks.. thIS works….so dont always panic

LIKE I SIAD JUST BECAUSE YOU MIGHT NOT FREEZE THE KICKER….THE REGULAR TIME-OUTS DO WORK TO MAKE PEOPLE MISS FG’S

The games in the past had the problems.
What do some of you want 15 or 20 sacks a game? that would be stupid….they fixed that this year and did a sweet job.
You want more pressue and more sacks???send more players after the qb, you will get more sacks but also get burned too! Just like in real football!
There is some gamers that will never EVER be happy!
I cant wait for MADDEN 09…..I hope it is even better than ncaa 09
