Hate to tell you 2k fans but 2k sports is guilty of what EA used to do when making there sports games and that is Minimal improvements and a fresh roster period. If you want the best basketball game then just give new rosters to NBA 2k7. 2k8 was actually a minor step back from 2k7 and 2k9 will equal 2k7 at best.

2k sports has definitely felt the pressure from EA, both creatively and financially and I think they have finally hit the wall. There games aren’t as impressive as they once were and the franchises they used to PWN at are a complete let down now (ie MLB 2k8, NHL 2k8)

They have already dumped college basketball, and since buy out talks with EA failed there stock is plummeting right back to where it once was before all the buy out talks started. There have been rumors already that 2ksports might have to scale back another of their franchises with NHL 2k being the likely casulty.

EA on the other hand, since Peter Moores arrival, has really showed me something. True the games aren’t perfect, but no game ever is, but Moore has definitely raised the bar and EA sports is on the rise where 2k is not.

The only problem i have with 2k8 is the speed of the game. THey need to bump it up to the speed of 2k7 or else 2k9 is going to be another trash again!!~

KG looks like he is on drugs! Live alwys looks better and plays better dont care what you 2k fans think. Realistic wise yes NBA LIVe in 2k SHaq can go to the top of th key and blow by a defender FAKE he does not do that. but you are doing a great job pasta keep it up

Looks cool, what I expected. Problem is when you bring a game EVERY year, we expect something new and different. Nothing wrong with every 2 years bring a new game so they have more time. We could deal with roster updates until then. At least I could.

This is how I see it with NBA Live since next Gen:

2006: By far the worst NBA Live game ever made. No features whatsoever. Online play resorting to getting the ball and spinning until you got a dunk. Made online play boring and frustrating at the same time. EA hyped the graphics in this game.

2007: Seemed like EA was trying to push 3 things here. #1 ESPN integration….obviously that was the biggest news they had for this game. #2 foot planting technology and #3. Special moves (dunks, passes, post moves, shooting) and all start weekend, all of which could be found in previous gen.

2008: Finally a step in the right direction. Not perfect, but EA begins to deliver. First NBA Live in a long time with no “gimmicks” in my opinion. The game was very playable, especially with “playmaker’s” sliders. The addition of Online Team Play was a very welcomed addition. FIBA (which was included at the last minute, could have waited one year, as 8 teams weren’t enough and the rosters weren’t up to date). Granted this game was still bad, as well as 2K, but at least EA actually making an effort was very welcomed. 2K was the better game (before sdot has a tantrum on here), but it was still bad.

If EA can make good as they did last year, and based off what I’ve seen so far I can see EA being a good/average game. Same goes for 2K with their updated graphics and hopefully something innovative.

I mean, I am getting bored listening every year, that “this year, live will be 100 times better, everything is improved, nothing is the same, brand new experience, youre gonna be on your knees, tones of new features.”

I see no changes an I do not believe.

2k is still the best, and with a NBA phrase: Do not underestimate the heart of a champion.
