Madden 09 Coverage Wrap-Up and Your Impressions

Do you know if the playbooks will stay the same as last year? More specifically, will the Titans have the same playbook now that Norm Chow is out and Mike Heimerdinger is in?

no joke the worst madden i have ever played the graphics are terrible runing and passing is sooo hard this game is just flat out horrible

I played a full game and I must say that it is overrated.

I myself always hate when people bash the game when it first comes out or is quick to point out the flaws but it seems too kiddy for me with the icons on the players, and the arcade feel. I am not saying to boycott the game, because I will shell out $60 every year ($90 this year) for this game no matter what but I am not impressed so far after all the hype I have heard from EA for the past few weeks.

and i didnt even mention the commentary no joke they make the radio announcer seem like the best comentator ever

easily the best madden of this generation, once i play it more i can think about if its the best football game ever. im having a lot of fun with it but getting disconnects in online games is the problem ive had

Hands down the best football game ever produced. Pick at it all you want. In the history of gaming nothing can even come close to Madden. Sure it has it flaws but common! I cant wait to see what Madden 10 and 11 will look like.

When the next gen comes out, if EA doesnt strip the game down again, we will all be in for a real treat. I cant wait!

Hey pasta thanks for putting up everything on the game. I like that you actually show it instead of just talk about it when you could just play the game and keep it to yourself. I really like reading your thoughts on it too cause we could even spot good and bad of them in the videos. Your observations here and in the past fall pretty close to mine so I always like to see what you’re thinking.

I poped it in and the first game seemed the same old, but man after playing for a bout an hour im blown away, yea theres glithches but there little things. The game looks amazing and the gameplay feels right. With a patch this game might be one of the best maddens ever. This game gets better as you play it. TRUST ME!!! Really better!!!

just picked it up and its pretty good but they’re some glitches like when the QB throws it rolls up his arm and i had the ball go trough a player! hopefully the patches will fix this up

The game is a HUGE step in the right direction. As someone who’s been gaming for over 20 years, people have become far too picky and have set their expectations for games like this way too high. The gameplay in Madden 09 is fantastic – as much fun as I had with Tecmo Bowl back on the NES.

If you feel it’s too arcadey, play on Hardcore mode. The thing I like about it is that the game is actually FUN to play again.

hey is this freezing a lot for you guys too? Me and my friend are having problems with the freezing.

Ive played a little over 3 hrs now and I am too tired to really enjoy the game so im going to bed…..but I really think so far this is the best Madden ever. I played one game online with my friend that went into overtime, no problems. The game looks great. I played on 8 min qtrs against the cpu and it is hard to get any offense. I only got 173yrds total offense but it was preseason and I was running alot to try to get the feel of it. running is insanely tough! there was 6 turnovers total, 2 pics i threw and 4 the other guy threw but none were even close to running back for a TD.

I dont think I will be returning this game after a week of playing it like I have the last couple years. So far I am very excited about the game.

game is awesome. best football game made so far IMO

I actually like the game, i was extremely suprised. a couple things i liked was the passing game, its more realistic this year as far as user catching. It gives the DB more love with the new camera view. But its sometimes hard 2 see the target when on offense. But i cannot stand the commentary that one guy sounds like a robot and the other guy continues 2 say the same lines EVERY game. He doesnt have variations or ne thing. It gets 2 repetitive, but this is clearly the best madden on Next GEn that they’ve created.

The graphics are insanely good. Played one game in the rain last night and it was a blast. Will lab some more today. But over-all, very satisifed with my purchase.

Playing the games through the Franchise mode are actually enjoyable. Instead of the same old bore graphics etc.

I only played the demo.

My only thought was that the madden test was too easy when compared to the real game, so I was having a tough time, especially passing.

Haven’t played Madden seriously for years, I doulbt if I will start now. It looks pretty deep, though.

not that id trust these sites normally for reviews on sports games but 1up gave madden an A+ and IGN a 8.8. gamespot for some reason gave it an 8 which is .5 lower than last year wtf lol

this is a great game that actually can benefit from a patch that just tweaks the issues which so far there arent any big ones ive seen

Quick question…is anyone else having trouble with the “backtrack” feature where Collinsworth breaks down the play? For me, everytime they begin to break down the play, the screen goes black and it just goes right back to the play-call screen…

Am I doing something wrong?

As of right now I would give the game like a 9.5 out of 10, its by bar the best Madden ever.
