Madden 09 Online Plagued by Problems

This is hands down the best Madden ever

I am having problems entering xbox live menu… it says that you have to be logged on to both xbox live and ea servers to use this option. i am not sure if i have a bad copy of the game or is the servers are either busy or down…

does anyone know or ahve similar situations?

Its either the servers or you just have to restart your system or your connection to live

its not just the colectors edition i rented the regular one and it freezes constantly on franchise and only on franchise… so i guess ima take the game back and wait for pasta to get some details on a the 2nd patch until i buy this game, if im lucky i can get it for cheap from someone on ebay cause its driving them crazy

Even though I don’t know you, I have a ton of respect for ya. OS’s site has a lot of info and the EA guys have been making appearances on their forums….which I can’t deny is kind of cool. But at what price? It is just my opinion and I could be wrong but it seems like OS treats EA with kid gloves. I am not saying they should rant and call EA developers out just for giggles. But it sure seems like you do a better job over here staying objective. You give praise when it is derserved but you also call attention to problems and don’t tip toe around issues. Just wanted to let you know I respect that and I enjoy your site.

Had to believe that anything with Brett Fag on the cover would have created problems in itself…….I will not buy Madden this year Thanks to Brett

I’ve played 6 games online so far with ’09 and haven’t had one problem. Maybe I’m just lucky but I didn’t seem to have many problems last year either.

I CANT EVEN SIGN IN TO EA TODAY IMAGINE THAT, WERE IS MY COLLEGE FOOTBALL I SHOULD OF KEPT THAT!

OS is full of brown nosing EA fan boys. You would think they pay them considering how far up EAs ass they are.

The game is good but honestly it’s not that much better than NCAA 09. If you’re on the fence about it then I would say save your money. Unless you’re a diehard NFL fan like myself then you’ll be fine with NCAA. Don’t get me wrong, the game is good but I do think it’s a little overrated compared to all the hype. The more I play it, the more issues I’m starting to notice about it. I think this years Madden is a good foundation to build on for the future. This is what Madden 06 should’ve been like when we made the switch to Next Gen.

Played 4 games today on the 360. The first 2 disconnected, one in OT as I was driving down the field, and the other where I had a 9-0 lead in the 2nd quarter and was driving down the field. These 2 games I finished vs CPU and won. The other 2 games I lost and there were no disconnects in either of those. So I’m 2-2, the 2 times I was winning it disconnected, the 2 times I was losing, I fnished.

I dont know why anyone have said the defense is horrible but the games ive played are pretty good the last one i one was where it was in overtime and the score was 17-17, i won off of a field goal, but really defense plays such a big part and this game is about knowing football,and not relying on your computers and silly defenses that stops everything, every defense this year has a weakness regardless what it is.

For all of you saying that this is the best Madden ever, no disrespect but isn’t this supposed to be? I mean people keep saying that as if it’s some big surprise that this is the best Madden ever. What does that say about EA as a company if people are waiting to see if this years Madden is going to be as good as 05? It only proves how stripped down Madden has become on Next Gen. There shouldn’t be any question that this is the best Madden ever because it’s 2009 & technology has advanced. With that being said, this years Madden is finally on par with 05 so does that mean will have to wait another 4 years to get that truely mind blowing experience? When people say that this is the best Madden ever, I think it only makes EA more complacent than they already are. Just something to think about.

Every time I get a DC ea gives me a loss. I haven’t been able to get a full game since launch. Very frustrating.

The slant and drag plays seem to be the most evident exploit I can find in the game so far. I hope this issue is addressed.

The D does seem a little weak. I have only lost one game so far minus the DC’s.

i have one of the tainted copies.. havent gotten through one offline game w/o it freezing… XBOX 360 owner too

While I didn’t play Madden 05, I will be comparing it to my NFL 2k5 experiences. 2005 was a banner year for sports games. I had all 5 of 2K’s releases(NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB & CHoops) and thought they were all good.

Some would argue that Madden 05 (although I never played it) was the benchmark for Madden. And a lot of people still think that MVP 2005 was the best baseball game ever. It would be nice to have another year like that.

That sucks to hear about everyone’s bad experiences, but I’ve gotten used to the game and have come to the conclusion that this is the most playable madden to date. Not talking about graphics, new features, or anything like that, I’m talking about realism and fun factor.

Madden 08 was fun if you played someone who played real football, but most of the time it was some 12 year old kid that used the Patsies, long bombed it to Moss, and then Quarter blitzed on defense. Or, someone using the San Diego playbook and doing that Wide Receiver double pass glitch.

Madden 09 has been the first football game yet that people can’t cheeze. I’ve stopped Adrian Peterson and the Vikes to 7 points, I’ve beaten the Patriots. This game is about who can out strategize the other person, not who can cheeze the most, or exploit the most glitches.

I use the Titans, and you can’t get 200 rush yards/game with VY anymore. The DE’s can outrun him while behind the LOS.

last night i had massive trouble even getting into a game i was being invited too it kept saying game session no longer available, shoulda known right there something was wrong, finally got n the game and it froze n the 3rd qtr. Quit playing online cuz i assumed it was just overloaded 4 the 1st day. Got my hopes up later and tried again quick match this time good till about late 2nd qtr then opponent got disconnected this time. then as i sit in a lobby i c the # of players online literally drop by hundreds every few seconds and from a max of around 27000 down to around 25000 in about 4 min, was too tired to look on the net last night to c if it was a major prob, glad 2 know it wasn’t just me, mad i can’t really play online without worrying
