First Patch for Madden 09 Out Now

The patch that was expected around release time for Madden 09 has now gone out for both the 360 and PS3. The 360 received the patch early this morning while the PS3 has had it for the last couple days. The list of what was addressed in this patch can be found below.
1. Changed default quarter length of online leagues to 5 minutes.
2. Solved a very rare stability issue that occurred when using a couple of playbooks.
3. Eliminated a button mashing glitch during high latency online games.
4. Eliminated a stability issue that sometimes occurred while viewing the player HUB in online leagues.
5. Fixed a tricky disc eject glitch that occurred at specific points of online games.
6. Kick Return Tuning – made improvements to help reduce frequent long kick returns.
7. Safety Tuning – eliminated issue where safeties in deep zone coverage would sometimes not react to a run to their side.
8. The game skill slider for interceptions was tuned to amplify it’s affect.
Be sure to leave your thoughts on any differences with the game that are noticed and could possibily be attributed to this patch. Online play stability is still a big issue and this patch hasn’t seemed to help in that regard on the PS3 side since receiving it. A second patch is still in the planning stages.

Pasta you seem to be able to contact EA…they might already know about this but are they doing anything to fix it?

everyone complaining about running being impossible, take a step back and look at the team and its stats. IF your team has shitty linemen, penetration will be constant. If you are predictable and try to run on every play then you will get shut down. I have found that if I throw some passes around, get the DB’s to go into cover 2 or 3, and then I can make some big runs. Also, take into account the use of the left stick, a lot of time you can make people miss with just that.
I started a franchise with Maurice Jones-Drew traded to me for some draft picks, I couldn’t get anything going, even though he’s a premier back. I worked on my linemen, got their run blocking skills up… and guess what happened… I was able to run the ball more effectively.
If you can’t run the ball with LT or AP, then maybe you need to practice more…
My only complaint is that I had to purchase a month of xbox live and go to my friends house to download rosters, because I live in a rural community and can’t get cable. BULLSHIT. The bugs are very annoying, and it would be nice if games were like they used too, before the birth of DLC, playable without 100 patches… OH well…
PRACTICE RUNNING AND YOU WILL GET BETTER
also, make sure to watch your madden IQ, if your run is at madden, it will be hard to run, even with LT.

pasta is there ne way they would fix the scoreboard glitch? Also will there be a patch on LB’s and CB’s blocking passes they cant see? Seriously it reminds me of 08 again. No doubt i like the game its ALOT better then 08 expecially the running. It was hard at first, but one thing i figured out is that the more u run, the more the D-line and LB’s get tired and u get more yards. Thats VERY realistic! But the Lb’s blocking and picking passes off they cant c if rediculuos and makes it hard 2 do ne medium passes.

I am just truely amazed that even after all the garbage last year, that this game came out and has had as many problems as it has. You’d think EA would learn…oh wait…lol, look at who we’re talking about here. Anyone that doesn’t see it as a huge ripoff that EA has been able to do this AT LEAST 2 years in a row now, is outta their minds. It’s going to be another long, Madden-less remainder of the year for anyone who doesn’t play the game online. Freezing Issues & Glitches again this year…and yet again, they’re not things that can be overlooked. But, with EA’s logic being “ignore them long enough and they’ll give up” attitude, they WILL be overlooked…because they’ve gotten their money. I guess in the grand scheme of things, EA has the right mindset to run a buisness: Produce Garbage, Make Money Hand over Fist…and thus far, they’re successful.

anytime you need to get the updated rosters, just go to online minigames. don’t ever go to quick match.
as for all of you crying about madden online. Its great. better game than the last three years. great offline. great gaming experience. you girls are crying about nothing. see me online. Smokez4Dayz xbox live.
My franchise hasn’t crashed. No D/C. No excuses. Go play the CPU and take unlimited rewinds with you. or hit that reset button all night like my 10 year old son

Agreed..That’s exactly what I was saying in my previous post. I’ve played Madden since ‘92 & I’m ready to just give up on EA all together. It seems like they don’t care about us diehard sim fans at all. I really thought EA would have their sh*t together this year. I guess that’s what I get for buying into all the hype. The most frustrating thing about Madden is that every year some aspects of the game improve but for every improvement there are 2 setbacks. 1 step forward 2 steps backwards. I guess there’s no point in all this complaining though. It is what it is right? I’m done..Have fun with Madden guys! Wake me up when 2K9 drops!

It’s a Brett Favre collectors patch. You should have gotten one with your game. Go back to the store and ask them for it because it’s limited edition and might be worth something someday.

a patch is something that ea makes for gamers to fix some problems that can be fixed…… to get it when u turn on ur game it says there is an update for this game would u like to download and you slect yes and then it does the rest

I’m having trouble joining any type of league. I’ve tried so many times in so many different leagues and it always says: “Error: League is not accepting any more teams at this point.” Does anybody know what might be wrong?

I wish I could play my copy… if only it didn’t freeze in franchise mode. Why are you not reporting this pasta? Hundreds, if not thousands are facing this same issue.

maybe the league was already started and i think once a legue starts the games you can no longer join

Pasta, is there any chance that the second patch will address the fact that opposing QBs can get the ball off no matter how quickly your d-line gets into the backfield? I find that the only way to get sacks are with corner blitzes and occassionally if the CPU runs play action. I’ve tried everything including blitzing 8 men and I’ve even subbed in pass rushing DEs to play DT on third and long play.

ive never had that problem before if anything its impossible to get the ball off they went back to 06 with that problem were throwing was impossible

I’m out here in the desert and just got the game. So far it’s OKAY but I was wondering…what happened to the footprints in the snow? I’ve played two snow games and no footprints. Can that even be patched?
