First Patch for Madden 09 Out Now

all i want to know is how to get these supposed patches that everyone is talking about because everyone i know has absolutely what a patch is or how to get one.

I'm out here in the desert and just got the game. So far it's OKAY but I was wondering...what happened to the footprints in the snow? I've played two snow games and no footprints. Can that even be patched?

ive never had that problem before if anything its impossible to get the ball off they went back to 06 with that problem were throwing was impossible

remember when you would start a game and starting it, theyd freeze the game and get a 2-0 win while you got a DNF lol

maybe the league was already started and i think once a legue starts the games you can no longer join

I wish I could play my copy... if only it didn't freeze in franchise mode. Why are you not reporting this pasta? Hundreds, if not thousands are facing this same issue.

a patch is something that ea makes for gamers to fix some problems that can be fixed...... to get it when u turn on ur game it says there is an update for this game would u like to download and you slect yes and then it does the rest

It's a Brett Favre collectors patch. You should have gotten one with your game. Go back to the store and ask them for it because it's limited edition and might be worth something someday.

What is a patch, where do you get it.

Everybody if u run into anybody who is doing this glitch or any other crazy thing like this please post there name im making a list for personal reference until this second patch comes out.

Agreed..That's exactly what I was saying in my previous post. I've played Madden since '92 & I'm ready to just give up on EA all together. It seems like they don't care about us diehard sim fans at all. I really thought EA would have their sh*t together this year. I guess that's what I get for buying into all the hype. The most frustrating thing about Madden is that every year some aspects of the game improve but for every improvement there are 2 setbacks. 1 step forward 2 steps backwards. I guess there's no point in all this complaining though. It is what it is right? I'm done..Have fun with Madden guys! Wake me up when 2K9 drops!

pasta is there ne way they would fix the scoreboard glitch? Also will there be a patch on LB's and CB's blocking passes they cant see? Seriously it reminds me of 08 again. No doubt i like the game its ALOT better then 08 expecially the running. It was hard at first, but one thing i figured out is that the more u run, the more the D-line and LB's get tired and u get more yards. Thats VERY realistic! But the Lb's blocking and picking passes off they cant c if rediculuos and makes it hard 2 do ne medium passes.

everyone complaining about running being impossible, take a step back and look at the team and its stats. IF your team has shitty linemen, penetration will be constant. If you are predictable and try to run on every play then you will get shut down. I have found that if I throw some passes around, get the DB's to go into cover 2 or 3, and then I can make some big runs. Also, take into account the use of the left stick, a lot of time you can make people miss with just that.

I started a franchise with Maurice Jones-Drew traded to me for some draft picks, I couldn't get anything going, even though he's a premier back. I worked on my linemen, got their run blocking skills up... and guess what happened... I was able to run the ball more effectively.

If you can't run the ball with LT or AP, then maybe you need to practice more...

My only complaint is that I had to purchase a month of xbox live and go to my friends house to download rosters, because I live in a rural community and can't get cable. BULLSHIT. The bugs are very annoying, and it would be nice if games were like they used too, before the birth of DLC, playable without 100 patches... OH well...

PRACTICE RUNNING AND YOU WILL GET BETTER

also, make sure to watch your madden IQ, if your run is at madden, it will be hard to run, even with LT.

I noticed the same thing... soooo annoying. Just look at Kellen Winslow. It takes away from the realistic nature of the game. Sure the name on the back of the jersey says Winslow or whomever, but the some players just don't look like they should. Faces are decent, but color certainly isn't.

People really are weird, all of the problems and issues these Maddens have and somebody is worried about skin tone. Last year it was because they couldnt sell hotdogs in owners mode. This game is now covering way to broad of an audience. EA should create a second Madden, called Madden Sim, and let all the hotdog vendors play this version. I just want a good strategic football game![/quote]
Just think. Graphics wise you don't expect a lot from Madden when dealing with the actual players. They obviously can't take the time to make the faces look identical because there are far too many players in the NFL as opposed to the NBA. The only thing I, and many others ask, is that they get the uniforms and the skin tone right. When they screw up such a simple thing such as skin tone it makes you wonder. I mean how hard is it really to make a guy a little lighter so they look more like their real life counter part. It is supposed to be a next gen game afterall. Same with referees.

First this is a great website with lots of info. I dont expect you to find glitches in the game play but how in the world did you or anybody else think the game play had improved. In other words how could you think the D-backs and D in general was better. Did all you do was throw long balls, yes that has improved but everything else is horrible. Did you not run some of your plays from 08. It took me all of 5 minutes to figure this out, then again I run an offense. I came on here 2 days ago and idiots, like a poster named Fred, thought I was crazy. Now 4 days later its all over the place that you cant play man and the D in general sucks. This game is way overrated. Eliminate the rocket catch and WR double pass and a few other things from 08 and it is much better.
