The NFL Head Coach 09 demo is now available for the PS3. I’m not sure how well a game like this is going to translate to the demo. At least it offers the opportunity to get a feel for it through the first full week of the season controlling the Colts including practices and the opening game against the Bears.
A five minute long gameplay video of NBA Live 09 has been posted by Gamersyde. This is a pretty good opportunity to see the game in action for an extended period of time. It does lack audio though which is a big part of the overall experience to be missing. Gametrailers fills in with multiple videos. A Signature Play Calling tutorial as well as gameplay featuring Pick and Roll Control and the Golden State Warriors.
The FTC has given the go-ahead to a potential EA purchase of Take Two. The two companies are now talking about a deal. Since EA believes the window to take advantage of the holiday season has closed there doesn’t appear to be the same urgency involved.
FIFA Soccer Blog got the details on the demo for FIFA 09. It’ll be coming to the 360 and PS3 on Thursday September 11th.
Gametrailers has posted up the first gameplay videos for NBA 09 The Inside. Heat vs Rockets and Lakers vs Celtics. The crowd looks excellent but there still seems to be a lot lacking in comparsion to Live and 2K’s offerings.
I have my copy of Madden 09 for the Wii. Look for impressions and videos within the next few days.

Wow!!! Is the 3 pointers in NBA Live that bad??? For anyone who played it for longer than a week? In the golden state video they were hitting 3 like nothing. Dude were in there faces and still hitting 3’s. And the last play of the video 3pointer was ridiculous. Thats terrible if you can make those kinda 3’s.
My concern is cause Im really into baskett ball games (play 2k since xbox 360) used to love Live on ps2, and I am really liking that online play where you get ranked for your position and would love to play that mode on live09. But if the 3 pointers are that bad i might have to pass.
Gametrailers just cut together a bunch of highlights essentially and probably from the easiest difficulty. That doesn’t really represent how the game plays.
Thats a relief to know lol. God I hate how sites make games look unplayable. Hope that was a easy level which im pretty sure it must be. Cause that 360 reverse 3 point shot was crazy.
Pasta do all people fight over the star player in that online mode? I love playing the point and racking up assists so I probably wont have that problem but I can see a group of people saying ” Im Kobe”… ” no no no Im kobe” ect…… Hows that work? Sorry for the noobish questions.

Never really had that problem in the games I played in. There are people, like myself, who prefer a secondary role. I like taking on small forwards and trying to fill several stat columns, scoring points not being my focus necessarily. Some people like taking a center and trying to own the boards. I didn’t find the glory of OTP to come in how many points people scored.
Now maybe you’d see that in random games, but with the setup this year for clubs people should have the opportunity to fit in with whoever their teammates are.
i was wondering if you’ve seen a game played in the wizards arena because last year the crowd chanted go warriors and i found that hilarious but also a huge mistake by EA….so just curious if they still do that.
Watch the people in the crowd during that video. The people trying to get to their seats are just walking back & forth & they never sit down. WTF? Just a funny observation. They do it in 2K also.
There’s just something about the way EA animates its basketball players that drives me nuts. They look so stiff even when they are doing things that should look so fluid. Spin moves especially just look a bit “off.” The ball also doesn’t seem to have any weight to it. Like it floats to where it needs to go. Couple those two things with multiple shots of LeBron spinning to the basket and dunking and it looks like they’ve haven’t improved on much from last year. Maybe I’ll just pass on an NBA game altogether this year.
I cant stand these types of videos (talking about live) where all you see in shot after shot going in….. when will these guys ever F-ing learn these type of videos do nothing in terms of telling us anything about the improvements of the game. WE GET IT you want to show off the offense, EA. The problem is thats what gives people that taste of arcade where Live is concerned.
the game looks great but these vids are annoying, the same old news.

I think the animations in Live look better than last year. The players actually appear to have weight and not slide all over the floor.

i hope this isnt the final build of the game. you can tell there are some bugs from live 07 in it.
