NBA Live 09 Demo Videos

After a day of the NBA Live 09 demo being out for the 360 it looks like in general it has been well received. I’ve come across issues that are still apparent or marginally improved from when I last played the game but I’ll be saving those thoughts for a full write-up this weekend. I really would’ve liked if they had included some elements of the NBA Academy because outside of 365 and Player DNA elements that are being prominently displayed through the demo it is tough to get a handle on the other new additions to the game.

Continue to watch the four videos I’ve got up which includes a quick description of each. All of them are played on All-Star difficulty controlling the Celtics. There are some pretty neat animations mixed in and I attempt (many times unsuccessfully) to display some of the new features such as the play calling and Pick and Roll Control.

This one I posted up yesterday in the comments, forum, and as the site’s featured video so you may have already seen it. But it is just the first play through with the demo.

In this I tried to run plays most of the time when on offense. I didn’t include intros in the rest of the videos since it was easier just to restart rather than load back into it.

I worked with Pick and Roll Control on most offensive possessions. It is difficult to get the timing down to where you know what the roll man is going to do without being able to practice it.

Here I play more naturally and it is probably the best overall display of how the game flows.

Next week. Maybe. I think it may just be the roster updates being activated by changes to the NBA.com rosters though. If that is it that is a good addition but not really a mode or anything to that extent.

It´s a shame that us PS3 users wiil get the demo a full week later (if we´re lucky enough). We already gotta deal with the fact that the game is being developed with the 360 as its leading plataform. I was a 360 owner and I loved may videogame but after having 3 systems RRODed, I gave up and went to the PS3 camp. Sadly, the framerate in NBA Live 08 for the PS3 was all over the place. I hope both systems give us the same experience this time around.

another 2k trailer….. really? LOL! I think these trailers are all flash but no substance, I’m pretty sure if pasta did a pole of who cares about these trailers you’d get the majority of us voting WHO CARES.

At Josh, I’m analyze the game to the fullest, pointing out their weakness and their strengths. I have been critical of EA and 2K in saying they are both bad games, and that 2K was the better of the two. I have been consistent on here in saying such, so you saying I work for EA just made me chuckle a bit.

The fact is you downplaying DNA as something you can do on a daily basis manually is just absurd. Many TRUE basketball fans can appreciate a technology like that, and other sports games fans salavate at an opportunity for their favorite games to incorporate that.

JR your just a 2k whore…..go to some 2k websites and forums and drool over their. I used to play College Hoops 2k8 only and NBA 2k8 because EA’s Basketball games would suck. But after playing Live 09 DEMO I have quickly made the transition to EA. The Be A Pro Mode is gona be fun. Alot funner then just doing dynastys. and Online Team Play is AWSOME. I am not a fan boy so I would know when to make the switch. And the Switch is NOW!

EA already stated that Live 09 won´t have the Oklahoma City Thunder with is colors, logos and uniforms. It will be just OKC players with some random uniforms and that´s it.

Does anybody know anymore info on the “Be A Pro Mode”? Do you create and player like yourself and start with them or do you just pick player from a real team like Iverson,Kobe,Wade Etc Etc… and play as them?

Its pushing it a bit to refer to it as a mode for this year. It is just playing one game locked in as a current player. I see it more as a way to practice Online Team Play than providing much of anything else.

First off let me start off by saying that i am the biggest EA sports/NBA live hater in the world and that there will ever be. Now that we got that out the way i must say that from playing the demo nba live 09 is a major improvement from 08 and i cant believe im saying this but i might actually buy the game. The commenting system makes it easy for people to drop their thoughts and run. Its good in a way but yeah I’ve seen things get off track pretty quickly too. You should check out the forum. Its a lot quieter in there and people seem to find the discussion a little more focused so you might feel that is a better environment to talk about some of these topics.

The commenting system makes it easy for people to drop their thoughts and run. Its good in a way but yeah I’ve seen things get off track pretty quickly too. You should check out the forum. Its a lot quieter in there and people seem to find the discussion a little more focused so you might feel that is a better environment to talk about some of these topics.

I get the feeling probably not very early, maybe a week before would be best case scenario. The Facebreaker and NHL copies were right up against the release date so that isn’t very encouraging when it comes to when to expect Live.
