Tom Brady Injury Will Make Roster Update Obsolete

In an ironic turn of events the injury that appears to have ended Tom Brady’s season will also put a big hole in the delayed roster update for Madden 09 that has been heavily discussed over the weekend. The relief that will come when the update finally does arrive will only be followed by the anticipation of the next one given the dramatic ramifications of the injury. The update will already be severely out of date.

While it was absent some recent transactions (along with not including Chad Johnson’s name change to Ocho Cinco) this injury will impact online play to an extent only imagined by a handful of players in the league.

So that just brings back the importance of finding a better roster updating solution. If this was one of the NBA games than Tom Brady may have been dropped down the depth chart or placed on the IR as early as tomorrow. While the Patriots will still have a strong team with Randy Moss at WR their appeal certainly will be greatly diminished to the online crowd.

very true… EA’s failure to put out the update frustrated many madden fans… now it doesnt even matter if they put the current one they have coming out because now fans will want brady and also vince young out… depending on their injuries

I don’t understand why it’s so troublesome to get these updates out sooner, hell, EA could let someone in the community do it and we’d have one up now…it’s not like it’s a patch or needs to pass microsoft certification.

You’re right that they don’t have to go through MS and Sony for certification but they do have to put them through internal QA testing. That is a step that can be skipped with NBA Live for example using the automated streaming data.

Hell, as soon as I get the Roster update I will be doing my own changes. I always use an offline roster and the official one when I want to play Online.

Madden seriously needs to consider that 365 thing.

Wait a second… I saw a shot of Brady walking off the field after the injury. He was moving gingerly but he was walking unassisted.

If you tear your ACL, aren’t you unable to walk on that leg that soon after the injury? Every guy I’ve seen with that has never been able to put any weight on it.

No Terrell Davis walked off the fielfd when he tore his ACL and that ended up ending his career. It depends on how bad the tear is.

No Terrell Davis walked off the fielfd when he tore his ACL and that ended up ending his career. It depends on how bad the tear is.

I personally suffered an ACL injury and got surgery exactly a year ago.

I feel very bad for the Patriots fans and Tom Brady himself.

If you say you are happy about Tom Brady’s injury, it is a very stupid and ignorant statement because you don’t know how much the ACL injuries suck.

So, we know this update is being delayed even more… Which is going to cause an uproar.

But even more importantly (at the moment)… Do you have any information on when the 2nd patch will be released? I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing how they’ve tweaked progression.

im happy about tom brady being out and the pats sucking now but i do feel very sorry for him personally and the way he feels because i didnt tear my acl but my mcl and it hurts like hell but i dont feel sorry for the pats cause im a colts fan and ravens fan but i do feel sorry for him and the fans
