Comments on: NBA Live 09 Demo Thoughts

I just downloaded it this morning to my PS3 from the UK PSN Store and I definitely think its better than last year…though I didnt buy 08 either [2KFan since Dreamcast] However, I always check out the Live Serries each new release to make comparisons and see where each has improved, evolved or declined. 2K is just so superior at this point that this Live is maybe just catching up to NBA2K6….maybe 2K7. Graphically, gameplay wise and presentation has improved but its still far behind from what I gained from the demo, And now even Sony’s basketball game is catching up to Live. Pick it up EA….like you did with this year’s Madden.

2k9 well be way better then this crappy game. I swear Live is the worst basketball game. I mean come on look at the player movement in game not in the little gym thing it sucks. They move so bad i literally drove right down the lane every time with Kobe and either dunked or got a lay up. Kobe looks all skinny lol if you like Live you must be an EA lover all of your life. But if your a basketball fan you would know that the better sim game is NBA 2k9.

Planb, modify the sliders sligtly in 2k8, and You wont see more missed layups.

For some reason i didnt like nba 2k8. It might have been the little things like players feet skating on the court which doesnt happen in live 09. Graphics wise, 09 is ahead (compared to graphics of 2k8). I agree with pastadres thoughts on the awkward turn around 3 point shots and the delay for blocks in the demo. Scoring in the paint may seem easy and some may think that this is unrealistic but on the other hand, the occassional misses on layups in 2k8 was also unrealistic since nba players rarely miss layups under the basket.
