Update on the Madden 09 Roster Update #2

Madden producer Phil Frazier has informed me that the second roster update for 09, which did not arrive as scheduled over the weekend, is now out for both the 360 and PS3. Apparently there were several bugs that were caught in testing that had to be ironed out first before going through yet another round of testing. This update will be the same as originally detailed.

Because of the big events from week one such as Tom Brady’s injury and subsequent placement on the IR another roster update is being targeted to arrive on Friday. Should the circumstances around the third update change the community will be informed.

I believe the Roster is out since it asks me to download them. But it says ERROR downloading rosters everytime I try to download them.

servers were just down…back up now…prompts for a new roster but errors out instantly. I think we are close.

you cant yell at ea for this every company will have problems with somehing of theirs and you should be thanking ea they are one hell of a video game company they manage to get games out the same time every years and other companies it would take much longer

My question is this Pasta, why wouldn’t EA just fine tune the rosters and update them correctly and hold off until Friday for update #2?

No sense in releasing an update now when they are going to do another on Friday. Just do one correctly and then release it on Friday.

Yep, I’m attempting to download the rosters at this moment but I’m faced with an error message after every attempt. They should fix the problem pretty soon though.

hey yea i just tried and it said new orster, then an error while trying to update… i think it should be fixed by 6 or 7 eastern or sooner idk… but hopefully soon

Hey pasta do you know if we ‘ll still be able to play with Tom Brady or any other player thats out for the year by simply moving him back up the depth charts online,just like in previous Maddens?

Well there isn’t any reason not to put these out. The third update will have to go through testing regardless, so they get these out instead of making people wait around. Even though the third update will have something as monumental as Brady going to IR, the second update had a ton of changes that people were waiting on.

Thanks for keeping us informed. Have you heard anything about adding players like Tolbert (Chargers) and Morgan (49ers) to the Friday update–the one with Brady on IR??

Could you with players that were on the IR? I’m not sure on that. I thought if they hit the IR they weren’t available, because the last roster update EA does every year frees those guys up.

I don’t know any other specific changes, other than we’re sure to get the change to Ocho Cinco and we may see an something done with Vince Young. I’ve been told that they’re looking at doing a roster update every week now so they may be a lot more reactive and able to make changes that were missed prior.
