To me, 2K was always the leader in innovation in sports games but over the past few years it seems that 2K was into recycling. College Hoops, although a good game, had the same graphics every year. NBA 2K, another solid franchise, was the same game since it arrived on the 360. Many people let 2K slide in blogs, forums and reviews but were very quick to hammer EA for not being innovative enough. As a hardcore sports gamer I am disappointed that 2K is going to continue to run the MLB games into the ground and continue to put out the same game every year in regards to hockey. I have yet to see NBA 2K9 so I will hold off on my judgment of that series. NHL 2K9 is horrible. The gameplay is decent but everything else is forgettable. 2K has done very little to keep me hanging on as a loyal fan (again, still awaiting NBA 2K9) and I hope that EA somehow rips the MLB exclusivity from 2K...360 owners deserve a solid baseball title.
