Kevin Garnett Reveals NBA 2K9 Secret?

In an interview with Jon Robinson of ESPN, NBA 2K9 cover athlete Kevin Garnett may have revealed a new aspect to the game’s online play. I’m not sure if it can actually be termed a mode but it could be something interesting for people to follow. Whether this is the big news 2K Sports has been alluding to is uncertain. Why all the mystery? Seems the commercial Garnett is shooting is for a secret new mode in NBA 2K9, the same game that also features KG on its cover. “It’s a reverse fantasy league,” Garnett explains. Seems KG, Derrick Rose, Monta Ellis and a few other NBA stars are going to draft online gamers to see whose team can accumulate the best 2K9 stats and the commercial Garnett is shooting shows some of his real-life best friends from what he calls his Official Block Family begging to be on his squad.

They already started that with the whole Team 2K thing. Which also killed the Team-Up activity for NHL 2K9 since people are just playing the regular way trying to up their ranking.

never thought I’d say this but EA delivered on a hyped secret with Live 365, this is just embarassing if this is what 2K really has been teasing about.

if true…this would be the worst and most ridiculous feature added to a sports video game since the inclusion of the radio voice announcer in the previous madden next gen iterations…seriously, how can a group of intelligent people come to the conclusion that this is actually a meaningful and game-changing feature? i mean, serious, i would hate to see the other ideas that this beat out to make the final cut…the option to play as the ref and make calls on the court? how about the new ‘be a fan’ mode where you have to go around and purchase as many items with the team insignia as you can and also raise money to attend all of the home and road games…

honestly, i have to believe that this is just a funny idea for a commercial…i am hard-pressed to believe that 2K would add a worthless feature to the game all the way keeping it secret and hyping it up along the way..

not sure what youre talking about but no it doesnt unless they announce something new. ea has exclusive with the synergy company that provides all the data. there are rumors about updating rosters by nba.com but that wouldnt even be nearly the same thing. 365 does way more than update rosters.

Madden has the most flaws of all but is the best seller yearly. So not a good point.

Nobodys saying 2k is perfect and anyone that does is crazy… at the end of the day its a game, in live players run through other players like there casper the friendly ghost. When it comes to flaws they both have them but when it comes to gameplay and presentation 2k has the advantage. Even if there is there big announcement all im going to do is be a little dissapointed but then still buy the game cause its still better than live…IMO. Personally I could care less about the feature they were holding out on. Haha it’s like the countless madden fan who bought madden when there big features were the ability to rewind a play and adding a score to how well you “play” the game.

I take back the clubs commnt…..This idea is dumb, how many NBA Stars are seriously gonna “draft” gamers for their teams? And how would the whole thing actually work? I seriously think that Live is slowly but surely taking the next-gen basketball title.

Forget features im all about gameplay and the realness of the game something NBA Live lacks. They look too robotic still until that changes I wont waste 60 bucks on that game. NBA Live does the same thing every year add features to make u buy the game instead of working on the stuff they havent fixed yet like Madden. But i can deal with Madden not Live.

i dont see the hat for madden with some people. Overal its a good if not great game. Its way more realistic than last year. Just about all of the features are back from LG. The Only thing they could add are more animations live 2k (dont really care for prsenation) I should also add I only play online games
