Madden and NFL Head Coach 09 Patch Updates

The patches for Madden 09 and NFL Head Coach 09 have been in certification testing with Microsoft and Sony for some time now so here is the latest on where we are at with those.
(Updated) Madden 09 will be receiving its second patch at 5am ET on Tuesday morning. It should be arriving for both the 360 and PS3. Originally it was believed that the patch would come out in the early AM hours of Saturday but it missed that cutoff and is now set for the AM hours of Tuesday for release by Microsoft and Sony. The details on what will come with the patch can be found here.
(Updated) The patch for Head Coach was set to be released at 5am ET on Saturday but it too didn’t make it out. It may be the same 5am ET release as the Madden patch on Tuesday morning. However the PS3 will not be receiving the patch until possibly later this week or next week (there was a problem that required resubmitting). Hey pasta are you going to show the roster of nba live 09? i need to know if ryan anderson and chris douglas roberts are in the nets roster.

David, it should have CDR and anderson on there,theres a special feature if you havent heard. Its called NBA LIVE 365. but seriously they should be in the game.Planning on running my dynasty with my Nets.

Frazier said if not tonight then it would be sometime next week (monday or tuesday) assuming all testing is ok. Sony & MS don’t work on weekends.

Yeah just got an email from him about it. They’ve returned the patch to MS and Sony and have cleared it for release. If it doesnt come in the early AM hours it won’t be until Monday. It sounds like things are pointing more towards Monday in that he hasn’t received a response back from them yet regarding putting it out this coming AM.

Alright just got another update and it looks like it’ll be Monday for Madden. There is a slight chance it may come out in the early AM hours but neither MS nor Sony have stated that it will. So it would now be a pleasant surprise but place your expectations on Monday.

How do you download a patch update???
Will it be automatic if you’re connected online, or do you have go to the online lobby in game and find it somewhere?;
It took me awhile to find out you have to start a game just to download latest roster…

Whenever u load up the game it should prompt u that there is an update for the game and take u back to the opening menu on PS3. U dont go online to get it.

Hey Pasta, thanks for the info. Sucks about the PS3 HC09 patch though, guess it’ll be a while longer til we get to play a clean version of that.

Hey Pasta…I Noticed That If You Play A Franchise As Any Team With A Open/Close Dome That It Never Opens In Franchise Mode…Any Reason For This??? Will They Have An Update To Fix This???

Not sure, it wouldn’t be something they fixed this year but I could mention it for next year.

I haven’t connected my XBOX 360 to the internet in a few years – so could someone post when the patch comes through so folks like myself know when to go through the hassle of connecting. Thanks.
Also, is it really as easy as just connecting an ethernet to the back of the 360 or do I have to login to XBOX live or something like that?
p.s. enough with the dickface, age, whatever comments. we’re fortunate to have this little slice of info here, let’s not spoil it.

Pasta will most likely post a thread sayin that the patch is here. On 360 I dunno if u have to have XBOX live or wht I have PS3 and as soon as I load up the game it will tell me there is an update for it.

I have a question on the Franchise Pasta. Why doesn’t it show pro bowls for players like Tatupu of the seasons played in the NFL. Since he’s gone to 3 so far it should of course say 3 when I start the Franchise but since Madden 07 they’ve left that blank for everyone. Also I’m curious of about when you edit a player why does it remove their draft status?

“As a side note, as of this moment there have been no changes to database schema, so you won’t have to re-start your Franchise or delete any files. “

So you’re saying you don’t want the info of when they are coming, just to post after saying that they are out? I think most people would disagree. As always the situation with patches and updates are fluid and can change, I can only pass along the info that I am provided. Its fair to take that info with some skepticism and don’t count on it but in that situation I still think people would want to know what is the latest on when things of that nature may be out.

How are patches downloaded? I have a PS3…Do I just connect to PSN while Madden is inserted?
