Now that the features of the game have been officially announced and the game displayed for the first time it looks like various outlets can now start providing media on NBA 2K9.
SportsGamer has posted up the ratings for the point guards. You can check out the full listings and category breakdowns here.
Gametrailers has posted up a gameplay video featuring the Hornets vs Bulls.
I saw the point guard ratings last night and I must say they are very inaccurate to the real life counter parts.

Yea I wish they still had Kenny Smith instead of this bum that throws out three word lines with no personality. Marc Jackson wouldve been a cool addition.

Deron Williams should always be around Chris Paul. Paul is rated to high but I think he is the best PG maybe a 95-96 but def not a 99.

wow deron is a full 5 points below paul? baron isnt as strong or stronger then deron? pauls mid range is one below derons? horrid. starbury still a 80 overall? if nba live didnt have players like battier and millsap in the high 50′s i would consider that game. probably will end up with both tonight.

Yeah I know Chris Paul is a great player but Deron Williams being 5 points lower I just don’t understand.

I didn’t have to big of a problem with the ratings. Jason Kidd, Monta Ellis, and Jose Calderon are a tad high, and Tony Parker is a tad low, but I consider Chris Paul a 99. We also don’t know how they are using the ratings system this year. Maybe there is little difference between ratings or something.
The crowd is amazing. It looks like a real crowd. It’s phenomenal and makes it look like an actual broadcast. I also didn’t see any sliding that anyone was talking about yesterday. This game looks like it will be one of the best NBA games in history.

There was still sliding, although it didn’t appear to be as bad as the gamespot video the other day. In the Lakers/Celtics game, just after tip off, as Fischer approached the top of the line, he slides around. Same thing in some other areas. I saw a few instances of “morphing” as well. All in all it looks alot better than the gamespot video. I’m looking forward to both games.

Just to second that this game looks like it will not only be the best NBA game in history but one of the best overall games period!

Anybody with any true basketball knowledge know’s that C. Paul was a beast last year and he clearly established himself as the top PG of the NBA. Before last season, CP3 and D. Willams was comparable PG’s, but with the year Paul had he clearly edged out Willams to being the best PG. That’s not to say that D.Willams couldn’t do like-wise and have a monster year this year. I think the 99 ratings is justified. Wasn’t the Hornets the #1 or #2 seed in the West? And they had the Spurs on the fence before losing in 7. To many dorks are complaining about the ratings without understanding the scope of which the ratings are being applied. Play the game first!! I think the ratings are clearly based off of how the player’s played in their recent games. 2K said these are LIVING ROSTERS. Meaning the ratings are based of the current, not past. And if that’s the case, then yes CP3 is a 99, and should be 5 pts ahead of D. Willams.
