First Chance To See OKC Uniforms

Vetzballin has posted up a couple videos from NBA 2K9 featuring the Bulls against the Oklahoma City Thunder. While the court is generic it does include the official logo, colors, and apparently their uniforms which were not to be revealed until Monday. Check the videos out soon if you’d like to get a look at the home white unis because they may not be up for much longer (as expected they’ve now been removed).

Update: The videos did make their way to Youtube. 1st Quarter2nd Quarter

I hate how the crowd (in every 2k9 gameplay video so far) is so energetic! Unless its the 4th quarter, they need to sit down!!

Question for 2K experts…is there a home court advantage? The crowd is rowdy but if that doesn’t impact performance at least somewhat then it is an empty experience for me. So does the crowd affect momentum or anything like that? I do agree that situationally I’m not understanding the intense activity for what is an exhibition game. Still I wouldn’t mind that except the lack of an advantage for the home team irks me with most sports games.

I have never heard an NBA crowd that nuts at tip off. Not even a playoff game. Not to mention the crowd is standing the entire time with some of the crowd waving their arms the entire time. I like the fact that the crowd is in the game but it should be more intelligent. To me, it is more of a college atmosphere versus pro.

I am also disappointed in the Thunder uniforms. I was hoping they would take the Sonics color schemes since few teams have green implemented. Horrible.

I think that in most cases game developers save the home court advantage for the college games. It helps differentiate the college games from the pro games. Although being that 2K dropped College Hoops from their lineup, it wouldn’t hurt to go ahead & add homecourt advantage for NBA 2K. If they were to add homecourt advantage for NBA 2K then they should really only apply it to playoff scenerios. You rarely see homecourt advantage in real life in the NBA during the regular season.

I also noticed that the uniforms are too shiny. I noticed this with College Hoops 2K8.

The opening presentation is sharp but when is a developer ever going to include team warm-ups during pregame???

Yeah I understand that but only to an extent. Home court advantage wouldn’t have to be overbearing, but there is a reason why teams have better records at home vs on the road.

  • Mr.Andersen

Its not an advertised feature, but it does give you an advantage. Especially with the Nuggets and the Rockets (for me) a 5 point lead can turn into 15 if your not careful once that crowd starts rocking. 3′s tend to fall more often, passing lanes get smaller which can lead to easy baskets, so i will say their is an advantagr

Doubtful. Something like that would usually be saved as an advertised feature. If they didn’t find it important enough to put in they probably wouldn’t push for it to be in a patch. Can always hope for the next year with these games :) I know with Madden I’ve been begging for it for years and nothing…

I think the court looks pretty nice for generic and the Seattle colors and banners stayed in Seattle and I liked how when the Westbrook got an injury they said they would give you an update when they could in madden they just show how long the player will be out
