NBA Live 09: Warriors @ Clippers

While I continue to hold back on most of my general impressions it is evident the more I play the more I improve and get comfortable with Live 09. The first game was rough at times but things started to click in this game especially in the third quarter. Leading into the next full game you’ll be able to see my continued progression with Pick and Roll control, calling plays, and playing defense. Gambling on defense is punished pretty severely as the CPU rarely misses an open shot.

Continue on to view the Warriors vs Clippers on All-Star difficulty yet again and broken down by quarter.

wow I hope you can get your hands on NBA 2k9 early n show some game play for that because I swear this Live 09 is horrible. Now I know a bunch of EA Live lovers are going to come and defend their game but come on just look at it. Don’t be blind when it comes to game play, player movement, overall comparison to actual NBA games and players. Its embarrassing for EA to put a product out this bad n what is funny is you guys continue to support them. EA is all about money now they lost interest in putting out an good game while Take Two for 2k9 actually puts out products that are worth the price. i would never buy an Live game just look at the videos please.

Wow…the animations for this game are horrific. I’m very disappointed! I was hoping NBA live was going to compete this year with @k… but there is no contest. … the player movements and animations are just ridiculous… Ball glitching over to another hand… silly bumping animations… everything looks extrememly unrealistic.

I’m going with 2k this year too but I’ve seen 2k9 vids and there are some of the same issues… the seller for me is that 2ks gameplay is better than lives IMO, Lives gameplay still doesnt look or feel realistic enough for me to switch over.

1)GPLAY animations were nice
2)atmosphere wuz crazy especially wen compared 2 Madden dats suppose 2 be Nex Gen but STILL had a 2D crowd WTF

Off topic but i can guarantee this guy hasnt played all the games 2ksports has to offer, making this comment is easy when u haven played the games.

Well I’m not an EA lover, but I don’t share the sentiment that all the animations look unrealsitic or whatever. I think Live has made a visual improvement. I’ll admit that 2K has a better flow to their animations (they always have, in football and basketball) but that doesn’t mean this year’s live is crap!

Anyway, I really don’t like the little hop, wanna be block animation. I would like for EA to decide if the player is going to go for the block or not… if not, a hand in the face animation or a running at the defender animation may work better. Those two inch hops are ridiculous.

Really liking the footwork in the paint this year.

nba live may not have the best gameplay but it should be fun to play when you put down 2k9. One things for sure though is that the commentary is on point.

You obviously don’t read any posts here…..when I 1st got my Dreamcast (9/9/99) I had Iverson and Moss on the cover of my games of choice all the way up to CP3 and T.O. & NFL2K5.

NHL2K= garbage
MLB2K= trash………may be worst sports game in last 10 years
Don King Presents= garbage
Top Spin= who cares
NBA2K is good and all but the game appears to be at the end of it’s life cycle to me b/c I already know what to expect. Is it gonna be good…yes I said, but damn, give me something new to try. Getting kinda bored with it’s direction. Madden needs a facelift too IMO.
