NBA Academy: Part Three

Next up in the NBA Academy are the quickstrike and lockdown drills. I didn’t find these to be as enjoyable as the others. One thing is that the game really isn’t explaining what to do for quickstrike other than knowing the basics of using the right analog. With the lockdown defensive drill it contributes to learning how you can learn to keep a body on your man and direct him where he doesn’t want to go. The problem is that the drill begins so suddenly that if you aren’t paying complete attention and already pushing back on the stick at the start of it you get blown right past (you’ll see that several times in the video).

On Friday look for videos of all of the full team practices. While these individual skill drills are valuable many people will find the team practices to be a great way to work on their game, especially so within dynasty mode.

I’m pretty sure that’s just the Wii version that has WNBA. Which is a scary thought…those player models on the Wii.

This game is crap. Go to operationsports.com and look at the player faces screen shots for Live then compare it to 2k9 the game is terrible please stop supporting NBA Live. Soon as you go there its the front page look at difference people you can’t tell me that Live is a better game you would really have to be EA fan boy.

I have to give it up to Live, they do have some good ideas. Now only if they could get the ideas to match the gameplay then Live would be a solid game. Also, why is it that the gameplay is more smooth when you play in the practice gym than it is when you play an actuall game? It’s been like that since Live made the switch to Next Gen. Boy I tell you, EA really has their priorities in order. Let’s spend all of our time on 365 DNA but we’ll work on getting the net animations, passing, & player models right next year. So what if it’s 2009 & we still haven’t mastered the basics of a basketball game. Nobody will even notice because they’ll be so into 365 DNA. Good job EA.
