NBA 2K9 Screens and Highlights

Previously I went through both community websites being presented by 2K and EA. Both offer features that can extend the enjoyment of their respective titles. Having Live over the last week I was able to get up a handful of highlight clips and a bunch of screenshots. The screens were great quality and the highlights had some excellent improvements and turned out really well.

Now comes an opportunity to look at the 2K community site. I’ve included a couple screens I’ve taken, a Deron Williams highlight I put together, and few of the most popular clips uploaded thus far. I’ll be working on doing some more but wanted to get an initial look at them up now.

Clearly the screenshot quality is not as good as Live’s and it is much more of a painstaking process to grab them. They come out somewhat dark and hazy and the red lock circle remains in them. The highlights however have more options for editing though it takes some time to get comfortable with the Reelmaker. Once you are there is a lot of potential to create some great highlights. The biggest thing that detracts from them is the lack of any sound.

Lives gameplay is better but still nothing like the 2k games

Pasta….I have two different gamertags that I use to play online. In LIVE09 you can’t have more then one person playing the Be a Pro mode even if you have both gamertags signed in. Can you do this on 2k9? I’m one of the people that is trying to switch from 2k to Live so if 2k9 allows this then I’m switching back.

I know you can play regular games with a guest but not in be a pro mode. I think it would be nice if you could have two people on on system playing in club.

I’m hoping this is a joke? That’s how the screenshots come out man. I haven’t edited them.

I don’t know for sure but I doubt it because the camera angles are meant to focus on the one player. If they had the normal camera angle it might work but I don’t believe they do in that mode.

what 2k has is what EA lacks, and what EA has is what 2k lacks. 2k gameplay is untouchable and so is live’s graphics, but the thing about 2k is its the same game everyyear, and live really stepped it up this year im havin a blast playin live, i just had to turn of my ps3 so it doesnt overheat lol, see yall later im goin back to play sum live 09

yea but with 2k why mess with sucess??? the gameplay is amazing so all they need to do really is smooth things out and add new animations and improve the graphics… i mean no offense to EA because i used to be a huge madden and live fan but ever since the next gen it seems like they do this on purpose… they release a garbage game then hype up next years so people can say “wow thats a huge improvement, there heading in the right direction cant wait to buy the game”, madden IMO is the best example of this… 2k’s developer this year said that this is the most they have ever been able to add and that they added better accessories and a fresher association mode, why cant EA do that… in fact why can Madden add signature throwing and running styles (which sould be amazing but doubtful as i have been asking for it for yeaaaaars now)

overall 2k9 is an amazing game… the association mode has got me hooked with my fantasy draft with Melo on the Knicks!!! lol

now all im looking forward to is socom and FIFA which should be interesting… which reminds me pasta are you going to do any FIFA coverage or do you not really cover soccer games?

Nah NBA Live is deff catching up to 2K. I use to play 2k games only but when I played the Live demo I knew I had to get it. And it didn’t disapoint me.

Online Team Play is the best feature I have ever played in any Sports game.
