NCAA Basketball 09 Release Date Change (Confirmed)

Both Gamefly and Amazon have changed the release date for NCAA Basketball 09 to Tuesday November 18th. While there is no confirmation of a push up in release for the game it does seem curious that two retailers would change it from the previously announced December 3rd with both settling on a date two weeks earlier. Currently the official website for the game and Gamestop still display NCAA as releasing in the first week of December.

Occasionally release dates on retail sites will fluctuate. However with a specific date having already been publicized it seems as though there would have to be a reason for them to go out of their way to change it. Both sites doing so would indicate that possibly some new information had been received. We’ll have to wait for official word on this and I’ll see if I can find out further information.

If the game is done and ready to go there would be little reason to hold it. By releasing on the 18th it would be out in time for Black Friday. This will basically be the newest sports title heading into the holidays with EA Sports hoping to pick up fans of the abandoned College Hoops series. Releasing it in mid-November, around the same time that CH has released the past few years, would seem a pretty smart move.

Update: My instincts were correct. The release date is confirmed to now be November 18th.

i hope so, there was last year. i didn’t like last year’s much, and the online community for this game wasn’t too good, although it wasn’t a great game. When you’re favorite part of a game is the fact that it contains Erin Andrews, you know something’s wrong with it.

Man bring it on if they changed the date to the 18 of nov it would be comming out just in time around college basketball season. And will there be rosters to download this year and will all the schools be added like ( winston salem st, and etc)

I would be shocked if there isn’t a demo. I would think that if the game is coming out mid-November that a demo would be released a week before hand.

I am getting a bit gun shy about NCAA as there hasn’t been a whole lot of information in terms of what the game contains in terms of modes, etc. The screen shots look similar to last year’s game. I also hope the jerseys were fixed. Last year, the numbers were too small….

I hope they didnt revamp the gameplay it played fine and hopefully it doesnt play like live. probably play something like live but have its own flavor.

yup yup… the moment 2k has problems you hop on it but with EA u take 2 to 4 days…. but when it comes to gameplay u praise EAs whose gameplays is inferior to 2ks…… figures

As much as I like what Pasta does for everyone, sometimes his EA bias just is ridiculous.

Coming out 2 weeks early? That is a very bad idea. They need to take the 2 weeks and put more polish on the game, and find more bugs. They are being greedy if they are pushing up this release date. Good luck to those who buy this, another EA Sports game that plays like feces.

EA, although not perfect, does a good job of giving the college games a different feel that the pro counterparts…

I wont ever buy another EA basketball game. They blow like the wind, PP Do u kno if there will b another College Hoops game ? Like CH2k10? or 11? Im hoping they jus takin a year off but i doubt it
