Ratings up
CB Corey Graham – Bears – 71 to 75 – Has climbed up the depth chart due to the banged up Chicago secondary. Bears sport a nice secondary once everyone is back.
QB Trent Edwards – Bills – 82 to 83 – Was impeccable vs. the Charger secondary in a win in week 7.
RT Langston Walker – Bills – 86 to 88 – Due to his solid blocking on the right side Edwards was untouched vs. San Diego.
TE Robert Royal – Bills – 81 to 83 – Check down option for Edwards. Tied for third on the team in receptions with 17.
CB Jabari Greer – Bills – 83 to 84 – Has been doing a fantastic job this season in coverage. His Madden rating has come a long way since beginning of last year.
LT Ryan Clady – Broncos – 82 to 84 – Extremely athletic left tackle for the Broncos. The sky is the limit for this guy.
CB Brandon McDonald – Browns – 82 to 83 – Has been doing a solid job in coverage considering the lack of pass rush in Cleveland.
CB Aqib Talib – Bucs – 80 to 81 – Now has 3 INT’s in his rookie year out of Kansas. Ball hawk.
WR Antonio Bryant – Bucs – 79 to 81 – Might have taken a starting WR spot in Tampa with his play this season.
WR Malcolm Floyd – Chargers – 73 to 74 – With Chambers and Buster Davis out has stepped up the past two weeks and might have cemented a spot in the rotation.
QB Chad Pennington – Dolphins – 84 to 85 – Continues to make smart decisions even in a tough loss to the Ravens. Was pick sixed in on a nice play by Suggs.
LB Joey Porter – Dolphins – 89 to 90 – Continues to rack up sacks and QB pressures for the Dolphins.
S Yeremiah Bell – Dolphins – 84 to 86 – The best player in the Miami secondary. Had a crucial strip on McGahee that the Dolphins couldn’t cash in on.
LT Sam Baker – Falcons – 80 to 83 – Missed time with a concussion earlier in the season but when in the lineup has given up 1 sack.
WR Josh Morgan – 49ers – 73 to 75 – Besides inexplicably kicking the ball through the back of the endzone for a safety; has earned a starting job due to his playmaking ability.
CB Tramon Williams – Packers – 78 to 81 – Showed he is a legitimate corner in the league by doing an excellent job on whatever Colts receiver he was on in week 7, mostly Anthony Gonzalez.
CB Will Blackmon – Packers – 73 to 77 – Along with Williams stepped up in the secondary vs. the Colts. Basically an athlete coming out of college has developed into a nickel/dime corner.
CB Charles Woodson – Packers – 92 to 93 – With the exception of losing his footing too often, has maybe displayed better instincts than any corner on his INT’s. There won’t be a better free safety if he ever makes the transition.
FS Nick Collins – Packers – 87 to 88 – Returned a gift wrapped pick for another TD Sunday vs. the Colts. Is around the ball more which could not be said about him in previous years.
QB Jake Delhomme – Panthers – 86 to 87 – Continued his sharp passing with Steve Smith back in the lineup.
HB Sammy Morris – Patriots – 81 to 83 – Ran all over the Broncos in a sharp first half on Monday night. Looks to be the primary ball carrier with the injury to Maroney.
QB Matt Cassell – Patriots – 76 to 77 – Had a nice game vs. the Broncos secondary on Monday night.
DE Trevor Scott – Raiders – 69 to 71 – Made a nice inside move vs. the Jets RT (Damien Woody) on one of his two sacks on the day.
LB Ricky Brown – Raiders – 75 to 77 – The other LB that starts for the Raiders. Had 8 tackles in week 7.
C Nick Leckey – Rams – 72 to 76 – Has started every game for the Rams this season taking over for former starter Brett Romberg.
WR Donnie Avery – Rams – 76 to 78 – Looked like a true deep ball threat vs. the Cowboys on Sunday including a near miss TD on a bomb from Bulger.
LB Ray Lewis – Ravens – 94 to 95 – Is playing arguably his best season. Looks better playing behind Justin Bannan at nose tackle.
CB Shawn Springs – Redskins – 88 to 90 – Is hurt now. Before he got hurt he was playing the teams #1 WR and playing tight coverage.
S Chris Horton – Redskins – 78 to 80 – His first game looked like a fluke when he had 2 INT’s handed to him, but he looks like a keeper due to his ability to be around the ball.
CB Carlos Rogers – Redskins – 90 to 91 – Looks all the way back from a season ending injury a year ago. He has been very sharp the past couple weeks in particular.
LB James Harrison – Steelers – 93 to 94 – Trails Ware by 0.5 sacks for the leader in sacks. A beast. Still needs to perform better against elite tackles.
LB LaMarr Woodley – Steelers – 84 to 86 – Has 7.5 sacks in his first season starting. Pairs with Harrison to form one of the top OLB combo’s.
HB Mewelde Moore – Steelers – 80 to 81 – Feasted on Cincy in the second half in a route. Has earned some carries whenever Parker comes back.
G Darnell Stapleton – Steelers – 72 to 76 – Inserted into the starting lineup after a season ending injury to the starter.
WR Santonio Holmes – Steelers – 86 to 87 – Blew past a what’s his name? on Cincy for his first TD on the season in week 7.
HB Steve Slaton – Texans – 82 to 83 – Averaging close to 5.0 YPC with 4 TD’s and has 0 fumbles which was a problem in college and early in camp.
HB Chris Johnson – Titans – 83 to 85 – Averaging 5.3 YPC with 3 TD’s. Carved up KC for 168 yards in week 7.
LG Eugene Amano – Titans – 80 to 84 – First year as a starter lining up at LG for Tennessee.

Ratings Down
LT Levi Jones – Bengals – 87 to 85 – Got beat a couple more times for sacks in week 7.
DE Luis Castillo – Chargers – 93 to 91 – A lot of good things have been said about this guy. Not translating to the football field this season.
LT Flozell Adams – Cowboys – 94 to 93 – Has had a heck of a time with two past their prime pass rushers the past two weeks (Bertrand Berry and Leonard Little).
DT Glenn Dorsey – Chiefs – 84 to 80 – Has been invisible and the Chiefs have been getting killed on the ground, especially to the Titans in week 7.
QB J.T. O’Sullivan – 49ers – 79 to 78 – Everyone’s golden boy has 10 INT’s on the season and has fumbled 9 times. Blocking has been bad, but those numbers are not NFL caliber.
CB Aaron Ross – Giants – 87 to 86 – Has been having a tough time staying on his feet and not giving up touchdowns the past couple weeks.
CB Leigh Bodden – Lions – 90 to 89 – Took a beating vs. the Texans and Andre Johnson in man coverage on Sunday.
DT Chuck Darby – Lions – 83 to 81- Has 10 tackles on the season and appears to be getting phased out.
RT Gosder Cherilus – Lions – 77 to 75 – Detroit flip flops this 1st round pick with a punch line (George Foster) at RT.
DE KGB – Packers – 85 to 83 – Continues to fail to impress. Now a bigger part of the rotation which will not help the Packers inability to stop the run.
CB Fred Bennett – Texans – 84 to 83 – Has slid down the depth chart after a nice rookie season. Had tight man coverage on a deep ball to Calvin Johnson though.
LT Bryant McKinnie – Vikings – 96 to 95 – Maybe still getting his feet under him after the suspension but is not looking good, and was whooped by Ogunleye in week 7.
S Darren Sharper – Vikings – 91 to 90 – Is not making plays anymore. Took the worst angle possible on Marty Bookers long TD reception in week 7.

Injuries
LB Keith Rivers – Bengals – IR
LB Boss Bailey – Broncos – IR
QB Brodie Croyle – Chiefs – IR
S Roy Williams – Cowboys – IR
HB Laurence Maroney – Patriots – IR
S Rodney Harrison – Patriots – IR

Contracts
C Eric Heitmann – 49ers – 4 years

we had no pass rush w/o Shobel playing…
Edwards’ only pick was tipped at the line…
No Josh Reed hurt our passing attack…
    T. McGee got burned repeatedly but admits he was only 70%…
Edwards had receivers dropping & FUMBLING balls all day…

…but the Fins put it to us good in the 4th and we showed no heart after going up 16-7. About Penny, he threw a 45 yd bomb and Ginn had to come back for it. That was my whole point in the 1st place! I CAN THROW 50!!!!

Considering the ROSTERS of both teams. Comparing the over “talent” (as so many ‘Boys fans like to cry about) I would say that the reason there’s not alot of talk about the ‘Boys D is because it really wasn’t that much of a feat. I mean, considering… Actually, I would say, given the “comparison of roster talent”, TB did a much more impressive job at Defense. So, in all honesty, that game could’ve gone either way. Only a 4 point spread. Not a **s whuppin’ by no means.

Jasonn Taylor being downgraded? comeon. why? is it cuz hes been injured. when hes been in he hasnt been playing most of the game, and when he does play hes not 100%, but still on that token. hehas a sack this season. applies alot of pressure and the majority of the time hes being double teamed. they droped his speed by like 6. comeon. if u wanna downgrade someone for injury. how about shining some of that light on the patrios. *cough* Tom Brady. has played half a game. and is out for the season. downgrade his 99 overall ass.
That wouldnt be fair. How can you bring someones overall down just because he’s injured.(i dont like New England by the way)
No, I don’t think it’s “neccessary” to lower the players ratings “IF” EA would consider making the IR players or injured players “locked out” for ONLINE play. Some people think it’s an insult to their hero if they can’t look on that roster and see that glorious 99 or 98 rating for their fave player. LOL I say, LOOK ALL YOU WANT! You just can’t touch. If they are playing FRANCHISE mode or SUPERSTAR mode offline…then, by all means. Those players are active and available in those modes because it’s a seperate/different/fictional reality. But, ONLINE?? No, that is a present day arena. Stat tracking what you do. So, it should fittingly be tracking what the IR players do. SIT ON THE BENCH! Just have them LOCKED OUT for online play. That’s all. There’s no need to demolish their ratings unless it’s easier to put them on 50 OVR than to “lock out” the players from online. It’s bad enough that players are addicted to the “power teams’ online to a degree that they simply won’t play unless they can have even MORE advantage by pulling people off of IR and using them against the Bengals. Ridiculous & shameful…just shameful

    Campbell-90
    Portis-96-97
    Moss-92
    Any Oline love
    McCantosh-90
    Washington-90
    Horton-83
Pretty good/accurate ratings post. Although, I would say that Washington is pretty much what EA has them at. He’s back & forth right now. Consistant injuries have kept him from consistant performance. McCintosh is definitely outplaying him now. So, I agree with that rating. As much as I feel that Moss is deserving of a rating as good as Reggie Wayne right now, that fact that he was shut down a couple of games keeps him from getting to the 92 mark. He’s an unquestioned & SOLID 90 perhaps he’ll get a little more love and make 91. LOL
Dead on with Campbell, Portis & Horton too! If at the end of the season, Horton is maintaining his play like now, I would say he would be deserving of 88, like Landry in his rookie year. But, that’s up to him.

Correction for my statement above. I would say that Washing is pretty much “WHERE” EA has “HIM” at. He’s back & forth right now. Consistant injuries have kept him from consistant performance.

the Skins better watch out they have beatin some good teams but they are starting to struggle a bit. beatin by the rams struggle against the lions and browns. washington is has been arguably one successful drive in every game this year from being winless. washington is winning very ugly, but to there credit they are winning but they need to feel realy fortunate to sit where they are in the standings.

I actually agree with you. I even agree with your ratings suggestions. That IS indeed a fair assessment. You’re one of the few Cowboy fans that posts with more thought than passion when it’s appropriate. That’s refreshing.
I only meant to say that I felt (& still do) that Dallas is superior on the Offensive side of the ball, in terms of talent & ability to score. Bucs strength IS their Defense. So, by my formula and years (decades) of watching Dallas, I know how they manage to always put up points. Tampa has a “capable” offense but nothing intimidating as the Cowboys. So, based on strength vs. strength. The game ended up where it should have been. Tampa DID drive the field enough to get those 3 field goals. I just thought that Tampa held a much more potent Offense to an alarming low score. I think you know what I’m saying. But, if Dallas is finding their feet again. Then I’ll go back to being nervous everytime the ‘Skins have to play them. Because, they DO have pedigreed roster.

list of better receivers. (in no particular order)
andre johnson – YES (he IS so overlooked, imagine another QB/Team)
roddy white – Not EVEN(simply won’t allow 1/2 season to determine that)
greg jennings – No (Insert Donald Driver here)
larry fitzgerald – DUH! (a resounding YES! Much respect here)
reggie wayne -Draw (same reciever: One has speed, other has Peyton)
steve smith -YES (as much as I don’t like him..or any other smack talker)
lee evans -DRAW (Evans is allowed to do MUCH more however)
anquan boldin -DEFINITELY! (One TOUGH SOB with hands & heart)
terrell owens -YES??? (are we talkin’ production? threat? or pedigree?)
randy moss -YES! Cut from the loins of Greek Football Gods! (loony guy)
calvin johnson -NO! (on his way but, not enough track record. Has the tools)
brandon marshall -DRAW (where was THIS guy?! Bagging & Kroger?)Whoa!
There. That’s a little better. However, That’s JUST my opinion. I don’t hate any of those guys…(under breath) would stop being a Redskin fan if T.O. was ever on the roster. Would resume after he was gone. LOL
3 No’s, 3 Draws, 1 substitute, & 6 YES’s. Not too bad. The Draws aren’t really a disagreement. So, for the most part I’ll agree with a top 10. However, I would have replaced those no’s with the likes of Jerricho Cotchery, Marques Colston, T.J. Houshmanzadah, to name a few. However, even if you look at it as a top ten for Santana Moss, he’s STILL not getting the rating appropriate for that ranking. I think that’s the general consensus around here. I’ve even put him at no higher than 91. I believe that a player must maintain (reasonably) throughout the year to finally “EARN” a 97, 98, or 99 by post-season.

It’s time to show Jason campbell some awareness, arm strength, and accurracy love. He’s playing like a kingpin! Carlos Rogers got some love but his speed is still too low. ,maybe 94-95. Portis should have 95 speed + trucking increase. And Moss should be at least a 88 hands and 98 speed. Cooley should have his hands rating of 90 ! Springs speed should be 92 also. You cant cover the elite corners as well as he has with an 89 speed rating.

No disrespect but if Edwards get an 88 rating Campbel should be a 94 rating . He should be that already but for all he has done EA wont show him any love.

I would agree with you about a potent offense IF tony romo was in the game. romo at QB makes this offense click, with romo out teams stack the box to stop the run & dare brad johnson to shrow it. with johnson at qb this offense is avg at best.

Yahoo sports: is Nominating Redskin Jason Campbell for Mid-Season MVP

LOL,… So I had to go check the rating for myself.

His Madden Ratings is a paltry 87. LOL oh man i’m not saying they are getting HOSED, but The back up QB is an 86 or 87.

    In eight games,
    Campbell has thrown zero interceptions.
He has a passer rating of 100.5.
The Redskins are 6-2, good for
2nd place in the best division in the league.

    What is Romo’s Rating.
and doesn’t he have a TOP 5 WR,
    and a top 5 TE.
and a top 5 RB to throw to.
Doesn’t he throw an interception a game?

because the people at EA sports arent smart enough to realize just because they arent on the active roster they think they arent on the team, plus when a player gets injured they usually sign someone to take their spot and its their way of clearing a spot on the roster..they are the biggest joke at doing this madden game..2K football kicks Maddens ass anyday.

witten definately deserves to go up the guy is in the top 10 receiving in the nfl. was top 5 before last wk. the next closest TE is 24th. and if it wasnt for the 40yr old bakup who knows what his stats would be. the guy catches everything thrown his way. he is definately the best TE in the game and should have ratings to reflect that. and yes he is hurt but he continued to play and if he has his way he will start against the giants. jason witten and demarcus ware are the only guys on the team that in the past few weeks that can honestly say that they played from kikoff to the final whistle.

after the performance against the cards i think steve smith should be 99 and deangelo williams 86, delhomme shoul get a boost. drew brees 97, reggie bush 87-88. ravens joe flacco 80-81, terrell suggs 91, leron mclain should get a boost , frank walker has taken playing time from mcalister and doing a solid job. chargers philip rivers needs a boost last time i checked he was leading in qb rating, vincet jackson is having a good season, and darren sproles needs a boost having a monster season, eric weddle has 63tackles 1int after week8. other player who deserves boost are kurt warner, kyle orton, clinton portis, andre johnson, roddy white, calvin jonhson, santana moss, joey porter, rams atogwe

    anyone else agree?

Yeah i agree with your updates, a lot, a lot of players are overrated this year and with no dominanat team or player putting up amazing stats other than Clinton Portis,I think there should be no 99’s

these are the best wr’s and rb’s in my opinion
Steve Smith 98 Adrian Peterson 98
Randy Moss 98 Clinton Portis 98
Andre Johnson 98 LaDainian Tomlinson 97
Brandon Marshall 97 Brian Westbrook 97
