Posted November 12th, 2008 at 3:46 pm

Here are the details on the next roster update for Madden 09 which is set to be out on Friday. Included are all the transactions, ratings up/down, and injuries for the 11th update of the season. Not sure there is anything as significant in this as in prior ones with the possible exception of DeAngelo Hall joining the Redskins. CB Corey Graham – Bears – 75 to 76 – Almost 50 tackles for the second year corner.
HB Cedric Benson – Bengals – 78 to 79 – Has taken the starting running back job for the Bengals.
DT Shaun Rogers – Browns – 95 to 96 – Traded in the offseason for Leigh Bodden. Back to being the monster he was.
LB D’Qwell Jackson – Browns – 86 to 87 – Racking up a ton of tackles in the middle for the Browns.
QB Kurt Warner – Cardinals – 88 to 91 – In the conversation for MVP as many times as the Cardinals throw.
LT Mike Gandy – Cardinals – 92 to 93 – Not thought of as an elite pass blocker but is.
WR Jerheme Urban – Cardinals – 72 to 74 – Starting to get looks in the 4 WR package.
QB Tyler Thigpen – Chiefs – 73 to 75 – Got a boost in throw power as he showed he has an NFL arm.
WR Mark Bradley – Chiefs – 73 to 77 – Has risen up the KC depth chart in no time.
CB Andre Goodman – Dolphins – 74 to 76 – Detroit fans might scoff but has played well in Miami the past couple weeks.
QB Matt Ryan – Falcons – 84 to 86 – Is the real deal.
DE John Abraham – Falcons – 94 to 96 – Continuing to be a pass rushing monster under Mike Smith.
CB Darrelle Revis – Jets – 91 to 92 – The new budding star for “shutdown” talk.
CB Charles Woodson – Packers – 93 to 94 – Had some missteps with Bobby Wade but showed his incredible smarts picking off a pass in the slot.
S Nick Collins – Packers – 88 to 89 – Took his 3rd TD back to the house. A play he wouldn’t have made earlier in his career.
DE Julius Peppers – Panthers – 96 to 97 – Continued to dominate as he rolled through Oakland.
QB Matt Cassell – Patriots – 77 to 78 – Continues to move the ball less than 10 yards at a time.
DE Aaron Smith – Steelers – 95 to 96 – Dominate at end for the Steelers.
LB James Harrison – Steelers – 94 to 95 – Showing his versatility by being in coverage more against Indy. A pass rushing monster.
LB LaMarr Woodley – Steelers – 86 to 87 – High up the sack leaders list in his second season.
DT Tony Brown – Titans – 86 to 88 – Racked up 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks with an impressive 7 tackles for loss.
QB Kerry Collins – Titans – 79 to 81 – Had to win last week with his arm as the running game didn’t dominate for the first time.

Ratings Down

C Melvin Fowler – Bills – 83 to 81 – Another in a long line of guys to get hurt for a couple weeks and find their spots taken when they get back.

S Jarrad Page – Chiefs – 81 to 77 – Looks to be on the bench after Jon McGraw played well against San Diego.

and also wheres PORTIS all the time he was doing good he got a 1-2 point boost when he was leading the nfl in yards LT a BUST is 13th in yards and hes in the upper 95′s in ovrall PORTIS is second in rushing yards by 37

    @ biggiefatz:
With a fantasy drafted team mind you, I have held the computer to under 200 yards of total offense and no scores. All of this while playing on all-madden and using 10 minute quarters. Football is a game of matchups. Dont expect to sack T. Brady everytime you blitz just becuase you brought 6 guys. He has a great o-line in the game and gets the ball out fast. You have to know that no play will work everytime ever. You need to play the percentages based upon player personel, down and distance. The more I play this madden the more im impressed with how real it is. While certainly not perfect, it is definately the closest anygame has ever come to real football. I have even blocked punts and a FG once. So just try mixing things up a bit more and using plays that utilize your players strengths more.

yea i understand that, LT should be lowered to about a 94 or so because he isn’t putting up the numbers he used to, but then again he has been hampered by a toe injury, and if u watch nfl and SC like i do, u’d know that he really kicks it in during the second half of the season, i bet he breaks 1200 yrds rushing. i still think he should be lowered cuz he now has a passing game around him so defenses aren’t completely focused on him like usual, but i’m sure he’ll kick it in cuz he’s a vet. and shaun alexander is a completely different story, he just dropped off the grid and wasn’t doing anything really, not to argue. and yea, i think ppl on ir shouldn’t be able to play and hasselback should be lowered 1 or 2 points only because he was injured for around 5 weeks and he’s a veteran so i’m sure he’ll get it back. EA’s hard on rookies and newer players who do really good because they haven’t proven their worth over two or three years, and if you make them a 90 this year and they drop significantly in performance, people will bitch about them too cuz they aren’t performing, so seniority has a significan roll in ratings. if you know how to defend on madden, you don’t need an offense with insane firepower. defense wins championships, and if you can stop people on offense, then all u need is an accurate qb and decent recievers and a power back an you’ll have it made. because it’s almost impossible to stop slant routes… anyway, i love this game a lot and i prefer to play on franchise, but every once in a while i’ll play online

Where is Haloti Ngata, he is a lock for pro bowl starter and is anchor on the best rush defense minus on bad game against the giants. 2 picks for a lineman does not happen often.

here’s some Giants player that need to be upgraded:
Justin Tuck(RE)94-96- has 8.5 sacks, 39 tackles, and 1 int. return for a TD.
Brandon Jacobs(RB)90-93- 806 rushing yards (4th best in the league), 9 TDs and 5.2 yards/carry
Entire O-line up 1 or 2 points- the reason for the giants success on the ground this year (best in the league)
Madison Hedgecock(FB)88-90- even John Madden said he was the best blocking fullback on Sunday night football.
Steve Smith(WR)83-87- leads the giants in catches as the 3rd receiver.
Corey Webster(CB)87-90- has 3 picks, and is shutting down every receiver matched up against him “cough *T.O.* cough”

I totally agree.. and ross should go back to 87 88 after his splendid day vs baltimore.
