Here are the details on the next roster update for Madden 09 which is set to be out on Friday. Included are all the transactions, ratings up/down, and injuries for the 11th update of the season. Not sure there is anything as significant in this as in prior ones with the possible exception of DeAngelo Hall joining the Redskins. Ratings up

CB Charles Tillman – Bears – 91 to 92 – Has picked off a couple passes with 12 passes defended.
CB Corey Graham – Bears – 75 to 76 – Almost 50 tackles for the second year corner.
HB Cedric Benson – Bengals – 78 to 79 – Has taken the starting running back job for the Bengals.
DT Shaun Rogers – Browns – 95 to 96 – Traded in the offseason for Leigh Bodden. Back to being the monster he was.
LB D’Qwell Jackson – Browns – 86 to 87 – Racking up a ton of tackles in the middle for the Browns.
QB Kurt Warner – Cardinals – 88 to 91 – In the conversation for MVP as many times as the Cardinals throw.
LT Mike Gandy – Cardinals – 92 to 93 – Not thought of as an elite pass blocker but is.
WR Jerheme Urban – Cardinals – 72 to 74 – Starting to get looks in the 4 WR package.
QB Tyler Thigpen – Chiefs – 73 to 75 – Got a boost in throw power as he showed he has an NFL arm.
WR Mark Bradley – Chiefs – 73 to 77 – Has risen up the KC depth chart in no time.
CB Andre Goodman – Dolphins – 74 to 76 – Detroit fans might scoff but has played well in Miami the past couple weeks.
QB Matt Ryan – Falcons – 84 to 86 – Is the real deal.
DE John Abraham – Falcons – 94 to 96 – Continuing to be a pass rushing monster under Mike Smith.
CB Darrelle Revis – Jets – 91 to 92 – The new budding star for “shutdown” talk.
CB Charles Woodson – Packers – 93 to 94 – Had some missteps with Bobby Wade but showed his incredible smarts picking off a pass in the slot.
S Nick Collins – Packers – 88 to 89 – Took his 3rd TD back to the house. A play he wouldn’t have made earlier in his career.
DE Julius Peppers – Panthers – 96 to 97 – Continued to dominate as he rolled through Oakland.
QB Matt Cassell – Patriots – 77 to 78 – Continues to move the ball less than 10 yards at a time.
DE Aaron Smith – Steelers – 95 to 96 – Dominate at end for the Steelers.
LB James Harrison – Steelers – 94 to 95 – Showing his versatility by being in coverage more against Indy. A pass rushing monster.
LB LaMarr Woodley – Steelers – 86 to 87 – High up the sack leaders list in his second season.
DT Tony Brown – Titans – 86 to 88 – Racked up 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks with an impressive 7 tackles for loss.
QB Kerry Collins – Titans – 79 to 81 – Had to win last week with his arm as the running game didn’t dominate for the first time.

Ratings Down

C Melvin Fowler – Bills – 83 to 81 – Another in a long line of guys to get hurt for a couple weeks and find their spots taken when they get back.
DE John Engleberger – Broncos – 81 to 77 – End who can’t stop the run and doesn’t get to the QB.
DE Tim Crowder – Broncos – 76 to 72 – Game day inactive most weeks.

S Jarrad Page – Chiefs – 81 to 77 – Looks to be on the bench after Jon McGraw played well against San Diego.
WR Marvin Harrison – Colts – 95 to 94 – Continues to be a non-factor. This time because he can’t hold on the ball.
LB Greg Ellis – Cowboys – 89 to 87 – Seems to be giving way to Anthony Spencer. Production is way down.
CB Lito Sheppard – Eagles – 93 to 92 – Not playing well in nickel packages.

DAMN ! and i will say again ravens 3rd in the nfl in rushing no O LINE LOVE. this is starting to get funny

Flacco blows, he couldn’t even beat out Tyler Palko in college. He was worth a 3rd round pick at most, not sure why Baltimore moved up to 22 or whatever to get him.

Finny needs a speed/agility/acc increase. He has kept up with every receiver that has challenged him. Adre Johnson, Chad Johnson, Bernard Berrian, Troy Williamson, Wayne & Harrison & Hester. Only 1 player got 100yds on him……but, he did not score and that was Jennings.

Ok, I’m a Titans fan and I don’t understand why Cortland Finnegan’s speed/acc/agility attributes have seen no increase. The guy run’s like a 4.3 “40″. He’s establishing himself as one of the rising stars and is a very good player. I’m not looking for an increase in rating, just a little bit of realism here. He has covered a lot of speed receivers this year, Andre Johnson, Chad Johnson, Troy Williamson, Bernard Berrian, Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison & Devin Hester. All this receivers have speed of 95 or better on the game and Finnegan on has only 93……..that’s a problem…….WTF??? Another thing I don’t understand with madden is how is it that a player with 86-87 speed keep up with a player who’s speed is higher than a 95 or just flat out “99″ (I’m talking deep fades with no safety help). Then on a flip side, how is it a no namer at receiver can beat a shutdown corner??? There are a lot of things wrong with madden, I like playing it but they need to do some research on players before just simply putting out roster updates, they need to go back to 3-4 weeks because some guys are only good for about a game then you hear nothing about them.

I can’t believe that he made Jarrad Page even WORSE! He’s already extremely underrated as it is. He was injured against SD. That’s why McGraw was in the whole game. Jeez. Page is the best Safety on the team! WTF?! Does Madbacker have like a personal vendetta against him or what?

Whoever says Philip Rivers hasn’t been too impressive knows nothing about football. His best receiver (Chambers) missed 2 weeks, Gates and LT are coming off serious toe injuries, and their offensive line has been underperforming all season long.

He still leads the NFL in TD’s (21), has the highest YPA (8.71), is 5th in Pass Yds (2,354) when everyone ahead of him has 50 or more attempts more than him, is tied with Warner for the lead in TD-INT spread with (+13).

Why are players that aren’t even playing going down. Like Carson Palmer, Terrence Newman and others like that. How can you say someone isn’t good if they aren’t playing. Let’s not forget to give, Jamal Charles, Mike Jenkins, Dustin Keller, Joe Flacco, Leon Washington and Michael Jenkins some love. They have stepped it up a lot as of late.

These ratings suck. I have been playing Madden my whole life, and not one year have I ever seen decent ratings. With the technology now, and the roster updates, how come they still can’t get the rosters accurate. I mean, you feel that bring Marvin Harrison down 1 or 2 pts is making a change. Its not, my grandmother can catch more passes then him right now. How about we watch a Colts game. I can go on and on, but its not worth it. Because no one listen to the people, and the only reason why they make money is because of the people. I swear, 90% of the people posting on this can probably come up with better ratings. And its not just the ratings, it took 9 weeks to add John Kearny to the Giants. Jay F has yet to be added to the Jets. This is a joke, and Im sure everybody feels the same.

Yo, I’m with TaylorH for hitting on the Moss/Hall combo we’re gonna smack people in the face with online. The Skins CB corps gets a humongous boost wit the addition of DeAngelo Hall; For Maddenites everywhere that use the Skins, like myself, we’re gonna burn that ass up. I’m sick with Moss on all routes so I’m gonna bring it from both sides now. Jim Zorn kicks ass.! H.T.T.R.! My gamertag is: x ReDsKiNs JC x

EA should look at this and respond to people.thank god the madden team is gone after this year.yes everyone it is true.the madden team that has been making the games the past couple of years is gone after this game.a new team is stepping in and probably going to do a better job than this team.better tackle animations and probably better graphics.plus they will probably get off their asses and get the updates right and actually pay attention to everyone.i mean c’mon everyone.these updates have to be better.i read these comments and people are always saying that players are being overlooked.

i also love how every falcons game that jerious norwood actual gets the ball the announcers say this guy has another gear or this guy is really something special.hes flippin 82 overall.last preseason he was 85.that was decent.just because michael turner is 89 (which is underrated and everyone knows it) it doesnt mean that jerious should be too.and jerious ran the same 40-yard dash time as reggie bush in the combine and they both are in the same draft class.i dont get it.maybe someone can explain it to me.maybe EA can if they read these comments for once.read it for god sakes.BRING UP JERIOUS NORWOOD!!!

why aren’t there any updates for the ravens? flacco has six tds and 0 ints in the last 4 games. ngata has two interceptions on the year and ray lewis got two interceptions last game. where’s the love? I guess we have to beat the giants for a little respect

I love watching the cowboys lose. 5-4. Ha.. only just above a .5 record. Your team is talked about a lot because you have a lot of fans, not because you are good. Let all your heads shrink back down to regular size and you’ll see that there is a hell of a lot of teams in the NFL that will finish with a better record.

And just for the record, I’d get a better backup qb in. Take some advice from New England or Tennessee.
