NCAA Basketball Info Rolling In

hey everyone, do you recommend picking up ea’s NCAA bball or sticking with 2k8. I have a ps3. 2k8 had some visual problems if I remember correctly. Just looking for some insight pasta, and from the rest of the community. Thanks

Fred has been doing a good job posting his impressions and answering questions at SportsGamer. From his comments, it sounds like the vast majority of work went into improving the gameplay (which was sorely needed and should always be job one), but there wasn’t the same drastic changes made elsewhere. NCAA BB 2010 will need to focus on continuing to enhance Dynasty Mode, an addicting side feature (‘Be A Pro’), and Online Play (Online Dynasty, OTP, etc.).

for sure. i was debating about getting it but after reading this guys reviews and impressions it put the icing on the cake. People will be doing roster updates for 2K8 with the 2009 rosters right?

Ya i played it. but there are probably a lot of new guys coming over now that there is no CH2K. So I want to give them all the info on it, since it’s probably a new experience for them. So if it seems like i’m talking about features in the game that were in there last year, thats the reason why

Will there be any lockers available with the teams named and so on? Without that feature, I won’t give the game a look. And I am a huge college hoops fan, but I would like the ability to DL names of players.

Yeah the game has the EA Locker for sharing of rosters.

I rather play this then madden.

game has gone from possible buy to completely ignore. weak effort.

oh ok, cause if you look at a lot of impressions this year people are acting like these things are new. I actually do like the now that it is more of a mode as far as choosing the school’s that hire you than jus being in the game. Dynasty mode has actually been the strength of MM now NCAA series. I found recruiting in CH to not be user friendly. I think that if you are a fan of CBB that this game is worth giving a look, because dynasty mode will be good. Do you think that Pasta or Fred??

I think its worth a look if you are a fan of Live and like College basketball. I think it’ll harder for guys who aren’t fans of the Live series to enjoy this game because the gameplay is the same as Live since it uses the same engine.

I think recruting is more userfriendly in this game because I’m used to it. It’s very similar to NCAA Football.

I disagree with you. I’m a big Live guy, but this game does not appeal to me in the least.

When you have a game like College Hoops 2k8 already on the market with an incredibly deep feature set, great gameplay, and amazing presentation, NCAA Basketball 09 is a MAJOR step back. EA has almost done fans of college hoops a disservice this season by releasing the game. Sure, EA will make money, but there is already a vastly superior game on the market right now, and it was released last season.

If EA can jam in all the authentic arenas, authentic jerseys, authentic teams, detailed presentation, weekly wrap up shows, online OTP, create a school option, and basically everything else 2K brought to the table in 2K8, then the game is worth checking out. As it is now, the game just seems like a severely stripped down college basketball game ala Fox Sports College Hoops on the N64.

See I disagree with you. 2k didnt have all the areanas, create a school was badly broken, and MM08 in dynasty was jus as good as 2k8′s. In terms of gameplay, the post feature in MM 08 was way better than anything 2k had to offer in the post. MM08 gamecast feature was better than what 2k had to offer. Now dont get me wrong 2k was more of a complete game (that had flaws also)as MM08 only had bright spots about it. Seeing as how this game is better than MM08, there should be no reason for anybody to not take a look at this game.

Why do u even comment? Nobody didnt say 2k8 wasnt better MM08. Did you play MM08 last yr. I actually had both and there were somethings that MM08 did right that 2k8 did ok, and there were a lot of great things that 2k8 did right that MM08 didnt do at all. BUt the point is that this game is neither and is not trying to be . New gameplay engine, new style of gameplay and brought over and fine-tuned what MM08 did best the dynasty. I say that is a solid game to me.
